"Kepa was big miss understanding" "Dr took 4 minutes to come back to bench to tell me he is fine" "Big miss understanding after some time i understand this now, because of Dr" Asked if he has control still "Yes you can see by the performance, we were amazing today." + Show Spoiler [Full Press Conference] + Sarri on Kepa incident: "You don't like to speak about football? It was a big understanding. I understood he had cramp & I didn't want the goalkeeper to go to penalties in that physical condition. I realised the situation only when the doctor returned to the bench" Sarri on Kepa: "The goalkeeper wanted to let me know he was in condition to go into penalties. Kepa was right but way he behaved was wrong. Mentally he was right. I realised it only after the match." He says he will talk with Kepa about it but wants to put it to bed Sarri on Kepa: "I was really angry." Says he'll talk with Kepa: "He needs to understand that for a misunderstanding we can go into trouble, especially with you [the media]” Sarri on Kepa defiance: "I thought with cramp that you can't go to penalties but the doctor said it wasn't cramp." Sarri on whether he still has control of the Chelsea players: "If you saw the match, you can understand how the player played the match how we prepared yesterday. So I think it shows I am fully in control of the situation." Sarri on different Chelsea plan: "Today we decided not to press very high in every situation where the opposing goalkeeper was involved" Sarri: "I think we conceded nothing to the best team in Europe." Sarri doesn't think the Kepa incident affected Chelsea's frame of mind heading into the penalty shootout Sarri on penalties: "Yes, of course, but to practice penalties is useless. It is easy to kick a penalty in the training ground, but here in front of 80,000 people and million of people watching at home. It is not a case of technical ability, it is in the mind" Sarri on whether the Kepa incident can effect the next match: "I saw the players quite normal." Sarri not happy with lack of VAR use in Hazard offside: "It was a mistake, if there's a VAR to referee, you have to wait. Especially in that situation because it wasn't clear if Eden was offside or onside. It is a mistake. You have to wait. It is a big mistake" Sarri: "Today, I am really very happy because my feeling is that we are improving because we can become a very solid team I think. After today, we conceded nothing to Man City which is not easy." Sarri on Kepa's lack of respect: "Kepa said no, no. I am really very well. I don't want to change because of injury." Sarri's message at the end about Kepa: "He was right for his motivation, but wrong in his conduct." It seems that he thinks that Kepa was within his rights to want to stay on, but that he didn't act in the best way. #CFC

But in that case, I'm not 100% sure it's not a penalty. Yes, Casemiro barely gets hit, but it was a dangerous kick. Pepe didn't hit Alves during one of those clasicos with Mou, but the red was justified. I think the first penalty was softer. The guy puts his hand up to protect his face, and it was a cross, not a direct shot at goal. The 2 clasicos this week are going to be fun, both teams still playing bad x) I'm expecting Madrid qualifying, and then losing the weekend game to seal the title for Barça.

It's a bit funny that Casemiro goes for diving considering how much semi-dirty pain & punishment he dishes out every game, but the penalty call itself is probably justified. At the very least it's clumsy play by the Levante player and forces the ref to make a decision in a situation where there probably shouldn't have to be one.

At the very least you would want the ref to have gone over to monitor to re watch that one.
