He isn't a fit because they have Davis. Davis needs a cheaper backup center who can play defense and shoot 3s. Cousins is just too expensive with an offensive skill set that is largely redundant with Davis there. If they can get a cheaper backup center, they need to shore up their wing positions.

True, but that is overall too nice IMO to Cousins. He is just a guy who I have little faith in in most environments. At best you are hoping for a poor mans version of the 2009 Dwight run (I think thats the right year). He's not a dominant defensive player, he's not nearly as vertical as the other 3-5 other "great" big men, and its not even a league with a good big men ruleset. To me, if he was healthy and on Charlotte instead of old Dwight they maybe get the 8 seed. I dont see a playoff team that could replace its starting big with Cousins and significantly improve.

It seemed like they had opportunity after opportunity to pull away in the 3rd and squandered them consistently. Hurray for Jojo though. And seriously fuck Wade and his dirty plays. He's actually a very good fit and massive advantage vs the 2 teams NOH needs to worry about for a chip(Houston and GSW) and possibly Philly going forward. But if he isn't close to the same after that Achilles injury it would be a terrible contract. But fit isn't the reason. Unless you think Mirotic will actually be a consistent scorer and A-plus defender for the rest of his time in New Orleans there is no point in arguing about fit. Otherwise you should take all your money and bet on them winning the chip now based on the 3 games vs Portland and post-ASB. You make no sense. Basically every team that is elite is going to eventually pose the same problem for NO. Even if a team like NY or Milwaukee ends up being the team it will be using a 4-1 lineup ( unless there are rule changes), not the sort of thing that plays into a 2 center lineup's hands. Plus, you really just want Davis to accept his role as the king of the paint on both ends.

I don't think anyone is thinking Mirotic is a better player, but that he might be more worth it when you take into account the differences in Salary both will have. The other big thing is what does AD want? If he will resign if Boogie does then it is a no brainer. Whatever he wants is what I would do because NO has no way of attracting a FA like AD so they need to do whatever it takes to resign him. AD still has 2 years + player option for a 3rd year left. so if they dont resign cousins, they need to have a plan for the next 2 years to convince AD to resign in 2 years. but i think they'll have no choice but to resign cousins, just like they had no choice but to resign holiday

And they're pretty thin on the forward spots. I think SF should be their biggest need.

With Davis there, they just don't need everything that they will have to pay him for. He's going to be a grossly overpaid stretch 5 on a lot of possessions. And they're pretty thin on the forward spots. I think SF should be their biggest need. *im not an expert on salary caps, just looking stuff up, so i could be wrong* the reason i say they have no choice is, without cousins, pelicans have 95.5 mil committed next year. the cap next year is like 108, can NO get a SF with 12 mil that will have a better impact than cousins? im looking at a list of FAs this summer and i dont see a SF that they can get for that much and be a better impact. ariza would be great, but i dont think he's leaving houston

Especially when the opponent is a 59 win team. Delon Wright was 3 for 9, 1 for 4 from 3, and +0 in game 2 on Tuesday. I think he was their best bench player and played very well and was a substantial contributor to the Raptors win. Jack Armstrong described this as a "coming of age" game for Delon. Dolye's "quick reaction" letter grade for Delon was a B+. Blake Murphy said Delon played well. Casey went on and on for 5 minutes during the press conference about how good Delon was in game 2. The universal consensus is that Delon played very well and was probably Toronto's best defender. This is an example of a player having a solid game and the player has a mediocre looking boxscore. I'd say Satoransky's contribution to the Wizards 3-1 record against Toronto the past 13 months when they use him as a handler/distributor is similar to Delon Wright's contribution to the game 2 win. When Sato's role and time are minimized the Wizards are 0-4. There is quite a thorough discussion regarding Satoransky's role with the Wizards going on on reddit. It also discusses how Sato earned his spot in the rotation as back up PG and Satoransky's head injury which may be affecting his play lately. https://www.reddit.com/r/washingtonwizards/comments/8dh4tn/satoranskys_role/ some say Satoransky isn't as aggressive as he was pre-head injury. i watched parts of a couple of games after Feb. 11 using LeaguePass and he looked passive to me. i don't watch many Wizards games though.

He could have easily injured that other guy. One of the strangest calls i have ever seen given that the refs went to the monitor and saw it all before the decision.
