That means that Italy Spain Germany (to an extent) get an extra 7 days training with the current squad before the season starts. Germany is different as their season starts the same week as PL and France but its a cup game vs a pub side so not much different than an extended pre season friendly!

So you will never ever get it fair, maybe having the window shut globally the thursday before a PL season begins is good. This is done before the first gameweek of Bundesliga no? This is also the same week premier league and ligue 1 start You calling German Div3 pub level tells more about you than about the German Div3. (ignoring the fact, that there are actually a handful unseeded Div2 teams) And no, Div3 doesn't play part time either. And looking at the results of the past years, and the reactions to those Bundesliga teams who failed to make it past round1, I would say, this is quite a bit more than just a training game. And well... The transfer deadline concerns all the German Footie divisions. Not only Bundesliga.

English teams want to avoid having to replace any players after the season has already started. But the EPL is where money is....that means they are mostly a buying league. To me it makes zero sense (specially in the EPL). Just look at the Coutinho situation....if they were already closed and the deal went through, then Liverpool would not be able to sign a replacement. Remember they can only restrict internal buying...the selling to foreign teams will always depend on the registration close date therein. IIRC Spain and Italy start later, Germany starts earlier and France is kind of on par with the EPL. This year due to the WC most leagues started earlier and started closer to each other than usual. I think they will never be able to force everyone to do the same, therefore, for selling leagues like Portugal, I hope we don't try to look good to the big leagues and adopt this, would be really bad for our clubs. (and all this is just ignoring that having 3/4 rounds with the ability to make slight corrections to the teams seems good on my eyes).

Guardiola's side haven't made the most convincing start and I want Liverpool to keep their excitement and momentum a bit longer so I'm going to back them. Chelsea should have enough to beat Leicester but it's going to be a tough game for them, Leicester won't make it easy. Spurs need to start winning if they're going to through their hat into the title race which will start to emerge over the next few months.

It just easier for clubs to tell players and agents no, the window is shut for us we are not selling now and we will re address in January / next summer. So i think it will be fine either way.

But just using the Coutinho transfer as an example, there is no way Liverpool will sell at all, even if the player asks to leave when they cannot buy and register a player. Thus way easier for clubs to tell player and club offering the money, no. "I would let you leave Coutinho but i cannot replace you, we will have to wait until January" etc etc

edit: The only way it could be a problem is if some buisness executive who doesn't give a shit about the club but holds the power to make the difference decides the deal is too good to turn down and sells against the managers will. I guess that's not that unlikely situation these days.
