He wanted to prevent him running past him with the ball by covering as much space as possible, bending the knee sideways to prevent a nutmeg, and he succeeded at that, he got to the ball first and blocked it.

Haha I love it when teams that are accustomed to total failure go crazy over some super mild success.

when teams manage to play as well as city and they also pull off the clutch wins in the few games where they are struggling, they win championships.

Yeah they are playing awful today and pretty lucky to be in front. Sane has just shot on sight and put everything miles over. Sterling back to missing from 2 yards out. Mangala is actually a huge ass liability lol. West Ham have had many chances here.

No team has more clean sheets than Palace in last two gameweeks (level with Everton)

Madrid tied with Sevilla in the 4&5 position in December is so great. I would have not expected it in Summer.
really surprised at valencia this season just judging from the table standings. what changed over the off-season besides marcelinho?

Valencia slipped up hard today. Which is to be expected from a young team
Nearly everything changed in the offseason. They cleared house and brought in hungry young players.
Zaza, Pereira for example is (Guedes, the best out and out true winger in the league in my opinion). Also guys like Garay seemed to have matured and alot more stable.
They arent a finished product but they can fucking play and they are chalk full of flair which is my favorite kind of football to watch. They are exciting going forward and really stable at the back.

They got a good general director (Alemany) for this season with knowledge of the club and league. Previous seasons, Peter Lim (and Mendes) just did random stuff. As a result they got good players and a good coach finally (Marcelino is one of the best Spanish coaches. he always had Villareal , a very low budget team, in top positions, even CL one season). Players like Zaza are playing at very good level. Some old players like Parejo and Rodrigo are back in form. Some new players like Kondogbia are awesome too.
The problem with the team is that the bench is short, and they are starting to have injuries.

Yeah Zaza will be out for a while i think he has a knee injury needs working on. Add in they suffered defeat to 10men Getafe and the wheels might be coming off.
