And to those who are giving Oscar shit for favouring money over playtime in top leagues, welcome to the real world. This is not prime Messi/Ronaldo/Hazard etc we are talking about. It's a player with limited first team play time. Yes he could probably go to a lower tier team in England/Spain/Germany/Italy and improve but this is 500k a week we are talking about. He will never get anywhere near that salary elsewhere. You might think they already have more than enough but you have to remember football players have short careers, 400k more a week compounded is a HUGE difference even if he only plays in China for a year. It ensures he can provide 4 times more for his family and live comfortably for the rest of his life while still playing the sport he loves. If you're talking about trophies let's be realistic, even if he wins 3 PLs CLs very few are going to remember him. I guarantee most people would have taken up that offer if they were in Oscar's position.

They have gone through hell and back having no stadium going right down to League 2. But now things are run better they have a wonderful new 30,000 seater and they are top of the League at Christmas, looking good.Yeah has them playing decent stuff too i believe. Interesting championship this season again, Aston Villa and Leeds should be making big pushes On December 29 2016 07:41 nayumi wrote:Well Donald Trump also got voted to be entrusted with the world's nuclear reserve so anything can happen I am actually reading Tom Clancy's 'The Sum of All Fears' right now and I can't help but think if this was happening right now with Trump in command then we would all be about to die.![]() The China stories actually make me not want to go to any games here. I will because I am a football fan and I love experiencing the game in different cultures. But yeah, it's just stupid.

I don't know the full story of the Brighton manager merry go round. I remeber the anger and confusion of Gus Puyet as he recieved the news he had been sacked live on air as he was commentating for ITV on a England international. Pretty harsh way to get rid of your manager.

I meant the current manager, he was at Newcastle got them back up after they got relegated first time round from the premier league. Then he was in the league and got sacked with the club mid table after a great start. He then took Birmingham to playoffs and then went to Norwich in premier league where he was sacked when they were 17th (outside relegation places) for Norwich to go down anyway. Then they went down even further xD Now he had Brighton doing so good with them, playoff defeats last season, missing out on automatic promotion in a crazy last season and now again making a push. He was the guy that did a good job but still got replaced as soon as things looked bad. Look at his win ratio and W/L record at Newcastle, im sure they would love that !

The Championship has been crazy close at the top for a number of seasons in a row. But this year so far Newcastle and Brighton are walking it. There's a long way left to go and The Championship is a really tough league. I would like to see Sheffield or Leeds, one of the big Yorkshire clubs back in the Premier League. Odd how 3/4 of the clubs in the playoffs are from Yorkshire. Huddersifeld are flying high. I would say they are far to small for the Premier League and not likely to add much but we have Bournemouth, Burnley, Swansea and Watford all smaler clubs in the Premier League this year. edit: We will see if the players get these crazy wages in the Chinese league just after the Chinese property buble pops. There's going to be a lot of debt floating around. There's a weird belief in China that if you invest in property, you make money, full stop. The same thing that happended in Portugal, Greece, Spain and the middle East will eventually happen here and on a much bigger scale. I don't really wish it on anyone because there will be a lot of honest hard working Chinese hugely out of pocket and in debt. However they haven't learned the lesson yet that property markets bubble and pop if the building is largely fundded by investors rather than demand. A lot of property in China is in my opinion hugely over valued and there are massive ammounts of empty buildings that will never find a buyer. Luoyang was the worst place I have seen there's like an entire empty city next to the actualy city and no one is going to leave the actual city to live in the empty one. It's just a huge badly thought through investment project. That no one will ever make money from. It's possible this edit is off topic.

Shanghai Shenhua paid a £9 million ($11m) transfer fee to get the striker, while ESPN FC sources revealed last week he would be paid a record £615,000 ($760,632) a week to make the move -- almost as much as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo combined. www.espnfc.com Carlos Tevez is now the highest paid football player in the world. 2016 is still surprising us until the very end.
