How can you possibly end that main event fight, sigh. Like it's a RNC, rather caution on the side of it being 2 sieconds too long rather than have this happen. Nothing will happen to you if you're in a RNC for a few seconds longer, nothing will happen to you if you go to sleep and the fight is stopped in a few seconds. Corporate shills.

Wow, that stoppage was absolute shit. I've lasted more than 20 seconds in RNCs that deep and I'm a fucking white belt. Chiesa was definitely in trouble, but he was still defending and was still advancing his defense. I hope that the rematch happens, because that was turning into a really fun fight, from a ground game perspective.

The UFC has stuff to gain by making UFC more mainstream, which supposedly the media entertainment sector thinks it's achieved by making the UFC safe at significant expense to the actual sport. Just lately all the stoppages seem very early, and people tend to justify them by saying oh, it was 99.9% sure the guy would get knocked out anyway, but with that logic we could end most fights before the KO's happen. I think an extra 2 seconds of a submission or ground and pound, or whatever, for clarity in the result and entertainment is well worth it. I think an extra 2-3 punches that these fighters will sustain is a drop in the bucket compared to what they sustain during the fight.

It's just all these small things that upset me, but corporate shills is just something I say inaccurately all the time because rolls off nicely, or idk why, so yeah, apologies for the misuse.

the ending of the Lee//Chiesa fight was called a "technical submission". I guess they're acknowledging he didn't tap out by putting "technical" in there. the stoppage was not perfect, but it wasn't horrible highway robbery either. I pretty much subscribe to Luke Thomas' viewpoint on the Lee//Chiesa stoppage.

I wonder where in Russia. It would be cool to have it in Grozny or in Dagestan proper but sochi is probably the best all things considering. Would be good to see khabib actualy fight and having it in russia will probably motivate him to make weight/ remove the need to make weight.

I know almost nothing about Russia either but with khabib being a Dagestan avar it'd be like having a McGregor fight in Boston instead of texas. Fedor was much more Slavic so Moscow would work for him but khabib would be a much more easy sell in the south of russia. Sochi has a proper stadium from the Olympics and clicks a lot if the boxes.

FUCK YEAH THAT FIGHT WAS FUCKING AMAZING

The Coliseum was loud as fuck for the entire main card. Admittedly shit crowd during the undercard and prelims, but we backed our boys in the main. Watching Chris fight in front of the home crowd was honestly one of the best sport experiences I've ever had. Maybe only matched by the Butler run in 2010 or the 2004 double championships for Uconn. Actually, maybe Uconn beating Notre Dame in double OT in 2009 comes close?
