Oh yeah I forgot about the co main event, Crute had a good performance out there. Not sure he needs that big of a step up in his competition though, he's climbing and developing nicely in my opinion. Didn't he lose against Cirkunov last fight? Maybe against one of the veterans like Jacare or Shogun, they are #14 and #15.

About Sosoli, I'm not a big fan of those amateur dudes throwing haymakers til they lose. Against a prospect you want to develop like Greg Hardy, why not, but that's about it!

He seemed out of it and kinda unconscious, but still well enough to stand on his feet and throwing punches back. He was unable to defend himself, which can be potential for a stoppage. Almost every strikes was going straight to his face despite the fight back. That being said, it's a tough choice to stop the fight right there, even if only on instinct, Cutelaba was trying to improve his positioning while fighting, clearly not a one way beat down.

Bad stoppage, in my opinion, the ref should have waited for either Cutelaba falling or getting stuck against the fence first.

Not really a great fight night, main card was all about stoppages, even some fun ones, but not many good fights. The main event was good - except for the missed weight part. The first two minutes of Megan Anderson vs Dumont, Brady vs Naurdiev was okay too. But so many last minute replacements or unbalanced fights.

I had Izzy winning too (2, 3 and 4, arguably 5), good focus by him not to try and enter Yoel's game. No reaction from kicks except ducking like twice. I wonder how much of a monster Romero could have become if he started MMA way earlier that he did, and learned how to feint too.

The co-main event was wiiild on the other hand! Zhang's fifth round impressed me a lot.

Some of Romero's left's look like they landed hard, but he didn't do enough.
If they aren't gna go all out they can't complain no matter what the judges score.

Its all about the women's fight though holy shit. Put a good enough opponent in front of JJ and its always gonna be classic, but that was next level

I hope Rose Namajunas is going to win her rematch against Andrade, to set up a fight against Zhang. If Zhang wins this - which is pretty likely so far - she's the goat of strawweight, no contest.
And then you go at some point for a fight against Shevchenko? That's the only option not involving cleaning up the division until a new generation rises.

Sure I agree, it's a bit early, but at the top of the strawweight you have JJ, Rose and Andrade, if she beats them all, I don't think the next girls in line are quite up there to challenge her properly yet. It has the potential to end up like Mighty Mouse's situation a few years ago, til he had to do rematches.

In the meantime i'm gonna enjoy the fights a lot, so that's fine too.
It's a way better situation than the heavyweight division, stuck in limbo for what, almost 2 years now? Ngannou deserved a title shot 100%. The winner of him vs Rozenstruik 200% need a title shot.

Heavyweight is not in that bad of a position right now, except for the belt being locked for a long time now. You have Ngannou and Blaydes as young prospects - even if Blaydes can't seem to do anything against Ngannou and is therefore blocked behind him - Rozenstruik is promising, and you still have Volkov who should have been in the discussion if not for that last second mistake against Lewis after 14 minutes and 30 seconds of dominance.

Pretty decent card yesterday too in Brazil, Not the craziest fights but some good old brawls and slick ground games in a few fights. + Show Spoiler +

Lee with the tap out into no tap out though, made me laugh!
