Gustafsson vs. Jones II would've been amazing for us fans, but really bad for the UFC as Gus is a stylistic nightmare for Jones (and would even be likely to lose due to how long he's been away from the octagon). | ||

I suspect the UFC developments of the past two years is factoring in WWE decision making. In many ways the WWE female championship belt was treated like a silly-fun comedy competition. WWE used Wrestlemania to re-brand the female title as the "Women's World Championship". I think its a very smart move by the WWE as UFC fans are awakening to the athleticism of top female combat sports. They are really giving the female title a reverential shine that the male title belt has always held. nice move by the WWE. The best pro wrestling angle of them all is this: a couple dozen great athletes all willing to put their lives on the line to hold the revered world championship belt a la the UFC. | ||
