Spurs look like a well built team and thier young enough to be a threat for the future. They are never going to win the Champions League but they have to be better than United at the moment. But asuming that's an upgrade who knows whats going to happen for Leicester next season. They might collapse at any point (even this season) or they might just keep going. But they probablly don't have the depth to be much of a threat in Europe to be honest and losing Chelsea from the Champions League has to be a loss for England because they just seem to do consistently well in Europe.
By they way English fans genrally don't think like this at all. The normal pattern of behaviour is to support your club and hope all the other English clubs lose. Is that similar across the rest of europe? Do Dortmand fans want Munchen to lose or do they feel a bit of national pride when it comes to Europe.
What about Italy do they want the Italian teams to win or does everyone hate Juventus unless they are from Turin? I do not care about the 5-year-ranking in any way when it comes to other teams playing. - I hate Schalke and will never cheer for them. - I dislike Bayern but I know they can't be stopped so I just hope that Barca finally defends a CL-title so Bayern are atleast not the first team to achieve that feat. - Wolfsburg sucks because it doesn't feel as if they earned their place and while one could say something similar about Leverkusen they never threw around with money. They are a solid and stable top 6 club with good squad building which I can respect. When Leipzig enters the scene they'll share Wolfsburgs fate.
Most of the other german teams that are or could in future be involved can do whatever they want aslong as they do not beat Dortmund or place better than we do. : )
I guess apart from Bayern and Schalke it works kinda like this: CL: all german teams should just lose EL: do whatever you want as long as we are not part of the competition. If that is the case: lose!
If Dortmund isn't involved in European football: I'm cheering for Roma (Totti) and whatever team plays attractive football (Barca/Stokecelona). Don't care too much about the German teams but I'll probably start hating and preparing voodoo when they get too close to winning a competition.

Teams that I lke that they always loose: Real Madrid, Getafe and Espanyol
I support all the other 17 teams when they play against non spanish teams (My favourites are: Barcelona, Atlético, Athletic, Betis, Villareal and Granada)

I imagine the French all hate PSG unless they support them but I don't know that for a fact. Maybe other French clubs fans support them in Europe out of a sense of patriotism. I have no idea really.
As a Bayern Fan I also "cheer" for the other german teams in international competitions, even Dortmund. Maybe cheer is the wrong word, I want them to win but I am not really sad if they lose.

My dad is italian and he hates Juventus but he has a lot of national pride so I'm pretty sure he cheers for them at least in the CL (because no other italian team even comes close to doing anything nowadays).
As for me I usually support every german team unless they play against teams that play better football (in other words I want Barca to rape Bayern again).

I want every german team to win unless they are playing against Dortmund. I don't mind Bayern and Schalke losing in embarrassing fashion but I still want them to win.

10th time I repeat it, but WHO THE F PUT THESE 2 GAMES AT THE SAME TIME? And why didn't he get fired? Swap Gent vs Wolfsburg and Kyiv vs City, then swap Atletico vs PSV with Arsenal vs Barça, GG! Now not only we get the 2 best games on the same day, but we get 2 bad games tomorrow!
I bet on 1-3 Barça and 1-2 Bayern. If Barça is at 90%, they'll crush Arsenal. Below that and I think Arsenal might have what it takes for an upset. I think 90%+ Barça is unbeatable on two legs, especially when the first game is away and especially when they have 8-9 points over the 2nd in la Liga... They do have to play against Sevilla this weekend but...
Juve-Bayern should be a more even game, but I think Bayern is just stronger. Juve lost key players for these big games, and although they've been on a roll in the Calcio, it's just not quite the same level.

I'm always cheering for German teams in Europe. They need to represent us and the Bundesliga well.

Yeah I'm always cheering for Dutch teams in Europe too, though against Barça it'd be hard.
