Quality wise they were up there with the other teams. So many unnecessary points lost. I am still proud! Losing the first two games was critical, after that they played some good games. City were the better team in the second half, but that's nothing to be ashamed of.

Letting England down like that is shocking. They are a weak team. I was always awed what Sir Alex managed to do with such a poor roster last years(compared to other big teams they had poor roster). Also English teams are a half of them when away from islands ![]() I am sad, but I somehow expected this. I am a long time supporter of Manchester United, basically from when I was able to watch them in Czech Republic ![]()

Now they have all the time to focus on the Bundesliga and will probably qualify for CL again next season, fail again, and slowly make germany lose the 4th CL spot. And I bet the first the first season when that actually is the case, one of my better liked teams will finish 4th in the Bundesliga. To be fair they landed in the toughest group. And if any club was disappointing it was Leverkusen, especially after some good early performances.

Yeah, tough group. And they were performing really poorly at the start of this season, which cost them lots of CL games as well.

Hope LVG gets a wake up call from this! Given that he subbed Mata for Powell. It is highly unlikely. I'm pretty sure LVG will use the Europa cup to blood the youngsters instead.

I think the attacking 4 from this game just needs to be Man U's attacking 4. Mata offers more than Rooney and the other three just have more energy and speed and are able to get around or behind the defense. The curious thing for me is where Felaini was playing. Sometimes he was playing as a second Dmid, sometimes he was playing as a target forward and it was switching possession to possession. This was causing massive gaps in the midfield. I also noticed that multiple times Felaini and Schweinsteiger were caught going forward at the same time or both getting pulled to the side and leaving a hole in the middle. I really don't know what LVG told him to do, but he was playing weird. Carrick and Schweinsteiger both could have done much better on those 2 goals and I can't remember the third one at the moment. Schweinsteiger just let the man (Draxler?) run right by him on the nice team goal and Carrick just completely lost his man on that corner. That was just bad individual play aside from how the team concept was.
