The Fight Night Chicago card took a big hit when it lost Anthony Pettis ( from Milwaukee ) It takes a much smaller hit , but a hit nonetheless with the loss of Myles Jury.
Felder, Jury's replacement, is undefeated and has only 7 weeks to prepare.
Chicago is a big market so i would imagine the people in that city expect a strong card. its not like Winnipeg where they're just happy the UFC is there. anyhow, it'll be interesting to see the gate and how the UFC reacts to it.
Pettis was the closest thing they had to a "local boy" on the card.

its boxing so i put my reply is in the boxing thread.
back to MMA, i've never seen Felder fight before.. but in this clip he knocks out Danny Castillo with a spinning elbow.. WOW. http://imgur.com/sldzpif
Felder may not have the name recognition that Jury has.. but if this is indicative of his creativity as a striker then the Felder v. Barboza fight in Chicago should be a treat to watch.
after JimmiC made 7 boxing specific posts i invited JimmiC into the boxing thread where i posted. he has yet to post in the boxing thread. the decline of boxing is debatable, but not in here.
on the undercard: Paul Felder versus Edson Barbosa should be a really good fight.
originally it was Pettis v. Jury and both guys got hurt. the new matchup probably won't sell many tickets. Howeverm after watching Felder fight in the UFC 182 prelims i think Felder and Barbosa are going to stand in the pocket and trade shots until someone goes down.
This is a good interview with Felder after the UFC 182.
Felder's KO of Castillo was the MMAFighting.com KO of the month. i hope neither of these guys gets hurt before the fight.

Anywho...I'm so flippin' excited for the return of Cain! Really hoping he puts on a dominating performance and gets a quick turn around for another defense. He has lost time to make up for! Pretty excited for Gil/Alvarez as well. That should be a fun scrap.
For me this is where it lies for Cain too. Get in, and get out ASAP, no potential injuries.

Ugh. If Cain wins and has another long layoff I will have lost every ounce of interest I have left for the HW division. I don't care what Werdum says or thinks, the interim title is not the real title. This is not a JJ situation, this was an injury. It happens a lot to high level athletes. And now he's back and head hunting.
If I was Cain I would be fighting with a small chip on my shoulder, same with Gilbert. Alvarez and Werdum have been very insulting of their roots leading up to these fights. Cain and Gil have been called 'fake Mexicans' by their opponents, Werdum even saying that he feels "more Mexican than Cain." I really hope this crowd goes insane for Gilbert and Cain :o
Hendricks gets the next welterweight title shot so he fights the winner of Macdonald v. Lawler, Lawler v. Macdonal is in July at UFC 189 and Hendricks will be in attendance. you can't start the promo machine too early i suppose
