Man, awesome heart by Alves, I thought he was going to just wait for the referee to stop the fight after the initial elbow that broke his nose landed, but he just fought back. Never had a broken nose, but I'd imagine it sucks hard not being able to breathe out of your nose like that. Plus, I heard re-adjusting it is a bitch.
Always gotta tune into a Condit fight though. Out of 30 victories, only two going to decision.
Edit: Aw damn, I have 3000+ posts now... I'm a lame-ass ghost. I need something cooler...
That's hilarious and sad at the same time. They are getting a raise but they still couldn't afford to get premium seating to their own show lol.
What's this about?
Sorry meant to quote the tweet but was just saying it's still not enough to cover a pair of the priciest tickets to 189. The video was good. @22:00 ish totally made me think of drag racing.
Sucks I guess, but money. How much are the priciest tickets each?
$5,499 plus tax and handling each. To be fair though, it covers an 'experience' but I don't think you can sit there without paying for the whole shebang.
At that pay though they are fighting for a little over minimum wage if they fight 2x a year. If they get hurt from the fight and only fight once they'll make less than minimum wage from the UFC for a year.
I guess the bottom line is if you want to make money go to WWE where the minimum is closer to 50k and people aren't trying to actually hurt you.
Is this $10K for the fight right? they still have a wage from the UFC too? How could these guys afford to live if they only got 10K a year from 1 fight?

It's hard to say since they will axe anyone who speaks on the record about pay. But they definitely weren't a couple years ago. At least not the average fighters.
Think this is one reason under-cards tend to have some hardcore fights. Those guys could triple or more their wage by winning a bonus.

haven't seen a more lopsided main event
Correia sucks, that's why. She is a decision-machine. Not a 'knock-out artist', not a 'submission specialist', but a 'decision-machine'. Yeah, she beat up Shayna Baszler, who on a million-loss losing streak. Shayna didn't even fall down though. It was a standing stoppage. She can't even punch hard enough to knock Shayna Baszler down.

Gotta love the HW championship. rest of the card is not bad, then 189 is going to be awesome! Not just the hype from aldo and the Notorious one but also Lawler vs rory for the belt. Then Bermudez only knows how to put on exciting fights. Brown Means is going to be great and I always love me some quick swick!
Yessss! Return of the beast! I hope Cain absolutely SMASHES Werdum; I will consider it revenge for Fedor
when you're in an exclusive relationship with the mother of your children you always keep at least a dozen condoms in her rented car... just in case.
sorry jon, but a teary eyed heartfelt apology won't whitewash over this debacle. besides, u used up all your teary-eyed-heartfelt-apology cards in 2014.
i think Jon's hiatus from the UFC will last at least 1 year.

Rockhold and Gustafsson aren't exactly the 2nd coming of ric flair in their interviews. i just think Rockhold and Gustafsson have had better performances than Bader over the past year so they get title shots and he doesn't.
I love Mark Hunt but wth is wrong with the HW division that he is #7? He's 10-9-1. I think he's the guy you have to beat to prove you can hang but #7 really?

Too many division, and low pay makes for shallow talent pool.
