Not since last night he isn't.
And also what hurts the most with Jesus's departure to join one of our rivals is that he is the manager with the most trophies in the the history of the club, and was the primary worker in nailing us back-to-back championships, which hadn't happened in 31 years. And the manner of his departure was straight up cuntish. He went from hero to nearly zero over a night.

ROFL, so american. NUMBERS, NUMBERS, NUMBERS !

Talking about Asian millionaires buying teams. I'm glad that Peter Lim (a very singapour rich man) invested in Valencia past summer. I'm sure they will keep their best players and buy some new ones thanks to that (In the past they had to sell all because of debt: Villa, Mata, Silva, Soldado, etc.)

lol USA just scored 3-3 vs our national team in a friendly home match. We are really going to fail to reach the 2016 championship, our defense is soooo bad

USA 4-3 now in 89 minute. Good riddance Oranje

hahaha this is great, both teams playing like it is a testimonial

Obligatory USA! USA! USA!

Look at the strength of Michael Bradley as he dribbles through the Dutch defense. I daresay that was better than Messi's dribble from the Copa del Rey final
In other news, Elche have been relegated from La Liga due to financial troubles, meaning Eibar gets another season in the top flight!

Is that in slow motion? That is some of the most pathetic defending I have ever seen.

You guys...always the same...jesus did not build a winning team after losing so many players last year...Benfica played average this year, it was just that Porto did worse. This season was just like Trapp's season a few years ago. Benfica didn't won, Porto lost this. Take it as a gift. Honestly, with all the BS from the refs in the beginning of the season and all the mistakes by Lopetegui/Porto all year long, how can you people praise jesus for this year? When facing proper opponents (CL) you saw the true value of that team...
Additionally, "look at how many great players got out of benfica in the last 6 years"....sure, just look at how much money did you guys spent in comparison to previous years. If you spend four times as much, you will probably end up with four times as much talent to be sold further down the road. Oh and Matic was already good, just like Markovic and most of the others...they were young and very talented players that just needed the minutes on the pitch and they got them in Benfica. Were they in Porto, Braga, whatever playing 90 minutes for a few seasons, they would also reach their potential without Jesus.
Think of it this way, if Jesus would have bought Messi and Ronaldo for benfica last year, he would've benched both of them for 3 rounds and then put them on and say "well they are now better players because we have worked with them on the backstage...now they are ready to play because of us".
I hope that now that Jesus left and the Benfica fans are not under his love spell anymore, that they will be able to grasp this.

lol just watched the USA vs Netherlands game. to put in perspective how bad the defense was they were saying Howard's 15 saves against Belgium in the World Cup was like a record or close to it. Defense was so poor tonight leading to so many shots taken that according to this Box Score they credited Cillessen with 14 saves and Guzan with 15 saves

Basically our offense was pretty good with the base formation (Depay, van Persie, Huntelaar, Promes) because Narsingh came on in second half and did nothing. van Persie was subbed off for Pröpper who did nothing either. But no matter how much our offense was doing great, our defense was worse :D
BMI and Bruma are some of the worst defenders to ever play for the Dutch national team. Holy shit, so bad.

Where is j Stamm when you need him. That guy was impressive

That guy was impressive It feels like general lack of great defenders these days compared to 10-15 years ago, though it might be affected by central defense being more vulnerable as noone really cares if the side back is mediocre defender if he can dribble and cross well.

When will Porto fans learn how to lose gracefully?

Maybe. I guess we'll find out this year. However, if you take the years 08-09 (Quique Flores) and 09-10 (Judas' first) you'll notice that the squads were comparable in quality but we sucked in 08-09 and bulldozed the league in 09-10 - with a pleasant 5-0 thrashing of Everton in the middle and beating Liverpool at home for the EL.

I'm by no means being a sore loser or anything. We deserved to lose. I'm just opposing the "glorification" of Jesus....Benfica did a great job these last few years in several areas (marketing, tv rights, bringing back the die hard insane, passionate benfica fans into the bandwagon that gave them money to bring great players) and a spell of dominance could be starting. Credit to where it is due.
I just think that this year, with a proper coach (and some luck in dragão T_T) the champion would not be Benfica. Yet, as we had a noob manager we did not take advantage of a poor benfica year. Oh and yes, I think refs made their part too, but contrary to our dumb coach I don't believe you won just because of that, If in the beginning of the year the complaints had some merit to them, from mid year onwards it just sounded like a poor excuse to justify our own failures.
Regarding the value of the squad in this next season, it really depends. If Maxi goes to Porto, Gaitan leaves and you hire Rui Vitória and not bring in fresh talent just to have all the kids play, obviously the comparison will not be possible.....yet our shitty newspapers will, once again, glorify Jesus regardless.
Edit: If somehow without major spending in Sporting he is able to capitalize on Sporting's man power and young academy guns and does a great job, I will be the first saying I was wrong. Even if he doesn't win a thing yet Sporting is able to make huge profits out of players "made" by Jesus I will admit that as well. Yet, I think that when you buy great players to Portugal, chances are they will play in your team for a few years then leave for a huge sum.
