yeah that fucked the sens that should have been easy points
for those keeping track

I figured Pitt's loss would have hurt them a lot more. head to head is still the first tie breaker?? I always forget

Regulation and OT wins is first tie breaker. Then head to head.

what do you guys think about that Methot shot last night? Watching it live from the angle he took the shot I jumped into the air because i was 100% sure if it didn't hit Bernier it was a goal, from watching that gif i thought i saw the mesh ripple a bit when the puck went by. There was a small investigation apparently about that shot in the NHL today and most people are saying it was a miss. What a heartbreaker

I can't really tell from that
that Rangers-CBJ game was fun last night. I think a healthy CBJ club is pretty scary. They've been on a tear (at the total wrong time of course) but if they're healthy next year I think they're certainly in contention for at least a WC

Sens vs Pens. OMG, what a game to go see tonight. So sad it wasn't a regulation time win, that extra point could make a huge difference right now. I was actually hoping that Hammond would get pulled with 28 seconds left, because a 6 on 4 looked like such a juicy opportunity. And they definitely had the momentum at that point.

FUCK YOU KINGS
LETS GO FLAMES

goddamn a lot of crazy shit happened and the east can still very much change. Wowzer. Also Rangers clinch President's Trophy wooooooooooo!
last night at the game I watched a father lead his ten year olds in a chant: 'Rangers suck, Devils swallow... frappicino!'
|
i hope east does not change much my caps play isles is fine, Halak is not that impressive as he used to be i think a lot will be figured out this Friday when isles host pens. same story for kings-flames this Thursday. These two matches are pre-playoff clashes Its getting hot!

Wondering if those Dubnyk doubters are re-thinking their logic after he stifles the Hawks last night. He looks damn good this year, even if it'll only be this year. I remember some people here doubting that he could sustain this kind of performance but to me it looks like he's doing a damn good job so far. He's won the Mild some games on his own accord.
|
I think he comes back down to earth a bit (simply because his numbers are totally bonkers right now and unsustainable) but he put up at least average stats most seasons on some awful Edmonton teams. He'll kind of be like what Halak is to the Isles except a little better. Average-above average goalie on a pretty good team. Like I see no reason he can't be a .915-.920 goalie at least on that team over the course of a full season. he's good enough and the team's good enough to hit that. he's posted .938 to date for them - that aint happening next year haha
|
Oh I actually didn't notice that it was you Hawk who said:
I still think the walls fall off of Dubnyk sooner rather than later.
I guess I interpreted that as you meaning this year, which he surely hasn't dropped off this year (yet). I mean if we're taking his full career into the scope of it yeah this might be the best season he ever has, but I think if I was a Mild fan I'd be happy to get him to be good for a season. Not like they lost a lot giving Arizona a 3rd round draft pick for him.
|
yeah that is vague haha. I mean that .938 would be the third best single season sv% in history and it's pretty safe to say that is due to come down.
and yeah they got great value out of him. I just think that realistically playing 60 or so games in a season he's good for at least .915-920, maybe a bit higher since he's on a pretty good team. my point is that like no one is going to mistake him for a Schneider or lundqvist over the course of a full season, but you can still be a plenty good goalie without being that level of good
on that note, man I feel bad for Schneider. He's a damn good goalie but right now those devil forwards are pure trash.

eh honestly I'm not really spiteful despite the Rangers losing to them. I always enjoyed watching the Kings play.
I think the flames will be interesting because advanced stats seem to indicate they're kind of lucky (high pdo, bleed shot attempts and don't do a ton themselves) and reliant on a few players. but at the same time, stats and all that jazz are a whole lot more accurate for tracking established players. the flames have a whole bunch of young guys who are constantly improving

wooo canucks are in the playoffs
