i think Ottawa's going to be cautious with trading their goalies after trading away Bishop for just a 4th rounder, and with how much Anderson gets injured they'll probably keep Hammond around before dealing him. Unless they get something ridiculous like a first rounder or a good defenseman I don't think Hammond will get dealt.

I'm not calling him out lol, the GM did. Also people say Doug Wilson will be gone every single season, though I do think this season may be reason enough for him to go. Coach idk about, Mclellan doesn't do a terrible job, and his style fits the sharks but he certainly hasn't been able to get the sharks to have that last little push.

what's crazy is how fast he is gonna hit 500 goals. it will be like 200+ games faster than bondra who wasn't a slouch. he's on pace to be the 6th fastest to 500.

this is my fav stat though:

So Edmonton was 5-1-1 in their last 7 and playing really good. Nothing like a date with the NHL's best team to remind you of just how bad you are...that was a rough game. Not sure why we started Scrivens instead of Bachman but I doubt would have mattered anyways

I love the fact that everyone knows what his heat map looks like and he still scores by just crushing it from the off wing

Stamkos has a very similar style on the pp too. it's just so damn fun to watch. Kovalchuk used to be like that too

4 game suspension for a key player on a team in the middle of a fight for a playoff spot is pretty brutal. Him being out those 4 games could easily cost the Jets a chance at the playoffs. Granted the race for the West playoff spots are absolutely insane and will go down to the absolute last day most likely.

Looking at the playoff picture currently makes me shake my head. Metro division has 4 people already out of contention while the Central has no one out. What's the latest into the season has there been an entire division in contention for playoff spots?

Edmonton in California never goes well for the copper and blue lol. 8-1 is brutal but the lose is entirely expected. Plus LA is in playoff push mode so they are alot tougher to beat now then they were 3 months ago

honestly i thought that's within the realm of fair... in my mind i would have been happy with 4-6.

With the way the NHL dishes out suspensions it more than likely is fair but I have an issue with the system in general. Some of the head shots you see aren't exactly dirty players playing dirty. Its a player throwing a hockey check and its gone wrong. Deserving of punishment, yes. Then you see that cross check. Hockey isn't being played their. That is nothing less than a gross deliberate attempt to injure a vulnerable player. No high speed, no bang bang type thing. One guy on his belly and another standing above him.

If someone skate across the ice at full speed and threw an elbow at someones head/neck they would get 10 or more and no one would blink, we'd all say good job NHL. I put Byfuglien's cross check in that same category of offense.

oh yeah I agree with what you're saying for sure. I guess me wanting at least those numbers was me taking that into factor. But I agree, I do not care for coming down harshly on bang-bang plays where head contact happens. Those deserve some kind of punishment, but I really really really dislike how closely those are stamped out but you have to absolutely crush someone on a board to just get a game or two. That's never a bang-bang play.
