Without having watched a single game they have played in months, I would say its the schedule has been very hard.
Their last 10 games:
NYR 7-2 loss
COL: 3-2 win
LAK: 3-2 win
NSH: 4-2 win
MIN: 2-1 win
CGY: 6-3 loss
VAN: 2-1 loss
PIT: 5-2 loss
MTL: 3-1 win
ARZ: 4-1 win

Only Arizona is a terrible team. The rest are all playoff teams. And they have a winning record vs all these good teams so I wouldn't worry about the odd blowout vs a top team.

Despite getting absolutely rocked by the Rangers yesterday, the Ducks are a scary team. They've got the high end talent, Kesler's perfect for that 2c role on that team, and all of their other forwards are great depth players. They've got some good defensive depth as well and they have two legitimately good goalies. Also after a few bad burnouts in Washington I think it's become apparent that Bouderau is actually a pretty good coach after all. I was guilty of doubting him as well, but more and more it seems that GMGM kind of failed him in putting together a more well rounded team there. Maybe all those fucks were some code for hockey strategy that us plebs could not understand

Bruins are absolute shit right now. I actually hope they miss the playoffs so that they can ship Julian and Chiarelli out of town and start the horrendous process of rebuilding a core. Chara and Seidenberg are on their last legs, Bergy ain't getting any younger, and the young kids are all question marks because Claude is too afraid to let them play (besides Pastrnak) and develop their talent. They're done for this season no matter how they finish down the stretch. Even if they squeak into the last playoff spot in the East they're an easy first round out.

I wouldn't say shit, we're just really spoiled in that our backup is rockin a 2.13/.929/5so stat line which is pretty fucking bonkers even behind that team

Anahiemgets league average goaltending at worst most nights (they're .917 and .913; league average is usually a little under .920). Which as you can see with the isles, is really all you need to be dangerous if you're deep at f/d. It's similar how Detroit's dynstasy was awesome even with that overrated piece of shit Osgood in net.

Boston really needs to speed up the youth movement and they do look like ass this year but I think any team backstopped by a guy of Rask's level can definitely steal a series.

Was watching the sharks game like a night ago, shit was depressing. I don't know what the internal issue is, but something has to give. Thornton got called out by management and he fired back a bit ago and the team just doesn't seem normal right now. Shit is depressing.

The problem with the Cali teams is that they all do good during the reg season then just crash and burn during the playoffs. The Kings seem to have it down to coast during the season then turn it on during the playoffs. Granted getting out of the West is probably the hardest conference to get out of in any professional sport currently. That being said the Sharks management needs to take a step back fill in the roles that need filling and let that locker room run itself. They have some great leadership in that room and are hurting themselves by questioning the team leaders like Jumbo Joe and Marleau.
The Pacific is having a weird year as a whole team wise. The Nucks are playing far better than expected after last year. The Kings are on the outside looking in on the playoffs as the defending champs. We all know how poorly the Oilers started the season. The biggest thing I think is that if you have even a slightly off year or even a few weeks you get buried in the standings. The teams are just that good. I mean look at the standings from a couple weeks ago compared to now. Nashville had something like 10+ points on the Blues and Hawks had a bad stretch and are now second 4 points ahead of the Hawks who have 2 games in hand.
The Sharks are this years Nucks. A slightly off year for them got them buried by the depth of the West. I'd be willing to bet that if the management fills the percieved holes on the team and stops question the players leadership the Sharks will be back into the playoffs next year

Craig Anderson is just not that great, and Jagr made him look pathetic. I think Anderson lost some confidence with the Hamburglar stealing his spotlight and outperforming him really badly for an important stretch of hockey.

yeah I never understood Anderson at all. He always looked like a better version of Brian Elliot (who is a better version of Osgood) but I never though of him as being great or even better than slightly above average. But a couple times now he's put up really good stats (though with really small sample sizes). I don't get it because every time I see him I just think how the fuck is that the same person? It's not like Ottawa is a defensive stalwart either. Maybe they just get shelled regularly and that boosts his sv%

He'll make all the saves he should and is very weak on goals he absolutely cannot give up. That's pretty much been his career to this point. Should be right in the middle of the league when considering the skill level of goalies around the league. Average.
