Well it kinda is but it's more playing being put into a position to fail rather than them not performing. The management blows the coach has clearly lost the room and there seems to be no leadership coming from within the players. Problem coming is going to be if they don't resign then who wants to sign? The west is deep granted they don't have quite the fire power some eastern teams do, but I'd argue that teams like LA Chicago and STL are stronger teams because while they don't have 40+ goal scores they have more scoring from the 3rd and 4th lines eliviating the need for a 40+ goal scorer. Edmonton has nothing going for them and honestly I can't blame the players for giving up. They've been put into an impossible situation. There's no way they can compete against the west where each team has atleast 2 strong centers. There needs to be some massive changes starting from ownership and management or the team is going to become like Chicago was before the current owner took over. | ||
