Was a penalty, hitting from behind. I dont know why they called it like that, but eh.

At least call it boarding if you don't want to hand out that 10m auto penalty. Calling that Slashing is hilariously stupid

the refs are timid to call hits from behind because of the 10 mins, but I think keeping Kunitz in the game was more of a penalty for us

anyway, watching chris kunit out there flailing around kind of reminds me of a less murderous bertuzi. why is he on the ice again? was dan cleary not available?

team canada buys into the retarded narrative that it's hard to play on the wing of one of the best centers and best passers in the world

Well, clearly the natural wingers Taylor Hall and Alexandre Giroux play for bad teams thus are bad.

I mean, Hall, is a -10 despite his team being a -90 and him playing 20 minutes a night.

I'm looking forward to watching Norway vs Finland. That game might be for second place in our group. Norway absolutely can surprise Finland.

yeah I think this game amplified that bad decision not to include guys like Hall on this team.

Really uncomfortable about Canada in this tournament despite Norway not being bad. Hope it's not a Torino all over again

the only major team that didnt disappoint was USA. Both Canada and Russia look really vulnerable.

I guess LSD is legal in Finland if you think Austria is going to get 4 goals vs Canada lol.

Gotta admit, I really do like the big ice, even if it isn't practical for the NHL to move to, I wish they could .

Also did Patches get anything out of the US stomp?

I dunno, i think the team will be fine, I do think Hall and Giroux should have made the team though.

Hall on big ice just seems like a natural fit to me. Kid would be the fastest player on the ice all tournament long.

I dont like Kunitz being on the team (or Nash for that matter, he's been garbage this year), but I'm actually okay with Carter. He feels like a fit to me, has the speed and hands to keep up. Also probably the only "shoot" player on the team aside from maybe Marleau.

That being said, regardless of picks its a poor excuse; we have the deepest and strongest club here, bar none.

Population wise, Norway is around the same size as Finland but why aren't they as good? I mean, I think today proved that they have the potential to be on a similar level and hopefully they can beat the Fins next game.
