Faulty reasoning. If Canada sent 2 teams to every international event since 1998 they'd be the "#1 hockey nation overall" too.

You're both wrong. If Sweden hadn't conceded Finland and the Baltics to the Russians we would be better than those two hypothetical teams combined. Our third team would still have a good chance of winning both the olympics and the world cup. Now we have this situation because a Swedish king didn't realize that invading Russia always is a bad idea. Always.

As for this tournament I think it is gonna be hard for the other countries to take the gold medals from the Swedish team. As it looks now I would say that only Canada and maybe Russia has a chance of doing that. Sweden would still be a huge favorite if they met. No discussion about that.

I predicted 5-0 or 4-0 to Sweden in this game, but that was a huge underestimation. This proves that I'm not biased. A winning team like Sweden knows of course not to push it when in a 4-0 lead in the first game of the tournament. It was therefore quite natural that they relaxed a bit to save their physical and mental energy for the next game. Before the game I saw no reason why Sweden should concede any goals vs this team, but I'm not gonna hold that against them given how the game unfolded. In the game of ice hockey almost any team can score against any other opponent with some luck and a lot of brute force.
The Czech Republic should concede the game immediately and end it on a good note. Playing this to the end will only have a demoralizing effect.

They stood up bravely, but they have a team with very few known names. Jagr rings a bell somewhere. I think he was good back in 1992 or something, but more interestingly - isn't Frolic a dog food brand?

Good luck and have fun and may the best team Sweden win the olympic gold medal in ice hockey!

I'm impressed, you type decently coherently for being high

Dude, your're from Leshoto. What would you know about ice hockey?

Have you even been watching the game?

Also, "Jagr rings a bell somewhere"

Dude, you high.

Yes.

You must not have read the sentence about Sweden not wanting to exhaust themselves in the first game. Now the goalie gets some practice so that he is warmed up and ready for this tournament.

Yes. Not much to talk about. It went as expected. The Czechs are a people with good morale and they fought back even after getting themselves in a very bad situation.

EA's NHL '15 is going to have a morale meter for each player.

Nah. It is always gonna be like that.
Sweden has too many good players. It is very likely from a statistical point of view that at least one of the rejects is gonna shine in a NHL game or whatever and have sport journalists asking why that player was left out of the team.

Oh please, you are all missing the point.

Sweden has Viking ships on their shoulders!

Viking ships vs the Canadian "sort of rainbow jacket but not enough rainbow that Putin finds us out"

Easy win, just as the finals will be.

Along with a jimmyjraynor mode that allows you to have several instances of the same player on the ice at any given time.

The Captain of Sweden's last Olympic Gold Medal team was interviewed today.

1st year of eligibility Hall of Famer, Mats Sundin offers his insights into Sweden's chances.

http://www.sportsnet.ca/590/on-demand/

he won 3 gold medals in world championships and captained sweden to its latest gold in men's hockey.

it is evident from the interview that he has a top notch hockey mind to go with his elite athletic skills.
