Cooled off here in the second, but we keep turning the ball over. Cut the lead in half tho. Like right there, the fuck are all of these cross court passes? Making it too easy for Minnesota.

And when did the Suns become fun to watch again? What is going on? I mean, only 7 games in, yada yada. I don't think they're actually good, but they're young and they're beating up on the teams a mid-level team should beat up on. The Jazz and the Nuggets are complete trash atm and the Pelicans aren't good, but look at their schedule. They could be 13-4 or 12-5 heading into December with a schedule that weak, and the confidence will only help. Still a turnover machine but Bledsoe is playing out of his mind. 20.3 ppg @ 50%, 7.5 apg, 4.5 rpg, 2.0 spg. And look at his ESPN profile! I had to check if my monitor was tilted. ![]() I can only barely recall hearing the name Markieff Morris before, but whoever he is he's been doing work. Last 3 games averaging 25/9 on 79% shooting. Wat. And he has a twin brother, on the same team. They could be like the Bash Bros. I think the sleeved jerseys need work, but the mains and alternates are way better than the Nash-era jerseys. ![]() I'm pretty sure this should've been goaltending, but still fun to watch. ![]()

And not looking good specially if we go without Nash. We've gotten smoked and looked pretty bad in the games he hasn't been involved in (2nd of back-to-backs w/o him all losses and have looked lost).

I said they would be lucky to hit 35 wins. He said they'd win 47. A small $100 bet is on the Lakers winning 47 or more games this year. ![]() It's cash in the bank for you for the most part but that said, we aren't WORSE than we were last year. Losing Dwight doesn't hurt us that much. Going until Christmas without Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash looking like he's on his last leg DOES. (To say nothing of how hobbled Pau has looked lately) Our bench production is up by an almost insane amount from last year and a lot of that comes from the Ron Artest amnesty, so I don't know if I can really say how much losing him is a trade off. But the biggest reason why the Lakers won't have the same record as last year has nothing to do with us. The West is just plain better this year than it was last year. The Nuggets downgraded and the Rockets look unstable but everyone else either looks better or the same as they were last year. Golden State is better, Minnesota is MUCH better (they're finally healthy which is why), the Pelicans are looking better and the Mavericks look better also. So. Sure we aren't better than we are last year but I wouldn't say we're worse off either. The Kobe Bryant injury is the biggest problem, but I still see us right on that cusp of fighting for an 8th seed playoff spot that we were at last year.

I'm not actually all that dissatisfied with who we have on our front court if you also include Jordan Hill. The biggest problem we're having is perimeter defense against the pick and roll (our Achilles Heel since like 2005 tbh), and transition defense. When Hill is on the court with Gasol or Kaman we're a competitive rebounding team and our guards and forwards are all threats from distance, but tonight we got absolutely torched from long range because no one could stay in front of Rubio and that forced a collapsed defense that led to an open shooter and Minnesota was red hot. When we went against Houston and LAC our front court did just fine, it's only really been Anthony Davis ironically that's killed us down low. Everything else has just been transition defense and guard play that's been a problem for us since the Phil Jackson days it's just gotten worse now without Metta and Kobe around.
