Well, it is your opinion. In my opinion the four times he have won it, he deserved and was the best of the world. (Although personally I would have given it to "Xavi" the year that Spain won the World Cup and Barcelona the champions because I think it was the best year I have seen ever in a midfield)

Oh true. I forgot Zidane. Best midfield I have seen, true. Still, Xavi is the best "playmaker" I have seen, and I still think that he deserved an award after the worldcup. But nowadays only scorers get it.

Well with the ancient format, the Ballons d'Or should have been like this imo:
2009: Messi 2010: Sneijder/Xavi 2011: Messi 2012: Iniesta 2013: Ribery (I would have put Lahm instead but it seems too unrealistic xD)

Stop peeing on C.Ronaldo's probable parade people.

He might disagree, won't make it any less true.
Xavi > Scholes imo.

Hopefully, finally, Ronaldo will win it. And good for him if he does because it's not his fault he's been up against probably the best player of all time (yet).

CryingRonaldo already got one golden ball before Messi got his 4, I don't understand all these "finally" comments

Cos 4 in a row where you're basically always 2nd or (whichever position he was in 2010...4th?) must absolutely suck!

This "World's Top Player" situation reminds me of Korean BW scene right before the SC2 shutdown. We have ridiculously good Cristiano "Jaedong" Ronaldo who has the misfortune of playing in times of even better Lionel "Flash" Messi. The only difference is that Franck "Bisu" Ribery recently wins more titles than those two combined...

Ribery doesn't deserve it to be compared to Bisu man... Ribery aint handsome and he's not as good.

Ha This comparison is surprisingly accurate
Ronaldo definitely deserved it this year. I don't understand why titles should have any influence on this award at all, unless one player basically carried his team to these titles (and that surely wasn't the case with Ribery).

Portuguese press been throwing around figures of €40million for like months and months lol. For us to get him €25million must mean we had some sort of deal. Also if that is true, we sold DeBruyne for £17million to pay an extra £3million to get a holding midfielder in what we need. Sounds like a good deal. Shame he was our fucking talent anyway ^_^ Oh well Chelsea shall learn The good side is that in buying Matic you get a player that is proper Chelsea. The guy loves the club, will never leave us or fuck us over and is one of the greatest players in the world for the position he plays in (a position the club desperately lacks players to fill).
People underestimate how important defensive midfielders are, just look at Makelele. When he left Real they went to shit, and coming to Chelsea he became (imo) the most important player we had during the Mourinho years. Bringing Matic on board should be top top priority.

Actually scholes agrees with that assessment rather Xavi disagrees haha, basically they each think the other is better than himself. Anyway to me Xavi = Scholes, no reason to say one is better than the other given everything these guys have achieved and their amazing abilities. Scholes just had the bad luck to have been born an Englishman where for years Beckham's looks were top priority in England

Was looking at the stats and it was funny that Ronaldo scored 3 times as many goals as Ribery and almost as many assists, yet zero prizes. Ronaldo is wasted at Madrid lol. Anyway I was talking about this with a bunch of friends and we all came to the hilarious conclusion that in history there may never have been a clearer second best player xD
