Indeed i kind of agree, he is joining Bayern with the same problem Barcelona have, lots of midfield competition, but the difference is Xavi is getting older so surely there would of been more opportunities to play at Barcelona than Bayern on the face of it. But i think with the deal that has been struck that he has been promised x amount of games. Going to take him a while to get used to the physicality in the Bundesliga as well...That also is the reason why Moyes did not want to sign him by the way, that Moyes feared he would not be able to deal with the physicality of the Premier league

thiago would be more suited to filling iniesta's role. he can play anywhere though, so i guess it doesnt really matter. but as a man utd fan i have to say im pretty pissed at bayern for taking this player away from us. and pissed that man utd couldnt close the deal after several weeks when bayern did it in a couple days. hope thiago sits on the bench there

Indeed, think it probably edging to be our deal if he stays in England now. Mourinho will love his style due to his ability to track back as well as attack. Plus he is better than any striker we got so i would be happy too.

He would do well in pretty much any setup but the Chelsea setup is great - a lone striker with the ability to create opportunities for attacking midfielders. He would fit in perfectly. But yeah I guess it might be the case that he wants to go overseas but where would he go? Potentially PSG if they sell Ibra to Man City. Imagine him switching to City haha! Or I guess it's always possible he goes to Real. But where else? Some random Russian team?

thats the good thing about rooneys situation. no place for him to really go assuming you rule out the english teams. i just dont see him going to another premier league team because hopefully he respects the club too much. and if that bid for fabregas is true, thats awesome. doubt well get him though

Will make there midfield go from being meh, to actually looking nice imo too. A world class CM to bump Carrick to holding mid and Cleverly to the bench and thus out of the England side and make me happy :3

Barça isn't going to let Cesc go after losing Thiago though... If they have to free some space, it's going to be Tello/Alexis/Pedro leaving (and I will be really sad if any of them leave). If Cesc had to leave, Barca's midfield would be left with:

- Busquets/Song/Mascherano
- Xavi/Dos Santos
- Iniesta/Sergi Roberto

Which is reaaally short for a team of that level considering that Dos Santos and Sergi Roberto aren't ready to play so many games...

Easy to respect Man U, but also easy to lose that respect when you are relegated to toilet seat warmer for the great RVP.

Also I would also wholeheartedly agree with the Fabregas move to United from a tactical standpoint. He's a class above and would fit in great. Still waiting for someone to snap up Fellaini for that bargain basement price!!!

well in man utds defense rooney wasnt his best last season, and if u compare it to rvp obviously rvp is going to be favoured. but rooney wouldnt be who he is without man utd so, who knows.

I watched Man U's games quite a lot and I never saw a bad game from Rooney. He was playing a more supportive role. When he and RVP played together I actually thought he did very well even though they had a goal drought.
