And as far as Arsenal's keeper is concerned, I would say get rid of Szczesny, plenty of higher quality players out there. Cesar would be perfect and I'd be surprised if they really couldn't meet his wage demands. They have spent years paying crappy players big time salaries. Players on the bench paid higher than Bale. I rate Begovic but not as an absolute top level keeper. Tbh switching Szcez for him is quite like for like.

In fact I wouldn't be surprised if their transfer strategy comes from seeing which players get good after 2-3 years in football manager. well since football manager is pretty great tool for scouting ![]()

Maybe I have a reason to cheer for an English team now? Thiago cannot play Xavi's role... If you had to find him a spot in Barcelona's 11 right now, he would play in Iniesta's role. The best replacements for Xavi right now would be Veratti or Gundogan, OR Jonathan Dos Santos that has been on the 1st team squad for 2 years now but hasn't had any chance to play for some obscure reasons... They can easily replace Thiago with his brother Rafa Alcantara, and Sergi Roberto, both probably better than him (from what I've seen). Rafa has been loaned but I have no doubt they will take him back next year to integrate the first team. Maybe I'm wrong about Thiago and he will become this huge star in Bayern, but I think he's overhyped and 22M€ for him would be a greaaaat deal for Barcelona. Rumors about Gundogan/Hummels leaving BVB gotta stop. Both of them have expressed a total of absolutely zero interest in leaving and both of them have contracts to 2017.

It's been rumored that he is close to an extension, but nothing more.

I am disappointed :D And Arsenal made another £35m bid for Suarez, I wonder if they are really out to get him or if they just makes bids to put pressure on Real Madrid to release Higuain for a fair price.

I had really hoped Thiago would stay at Barcelona. He was the natural successor to Xavi, and it's clear that the aging midfielder can't play as many games as he used to, or at least at his usual high level, with his achilles problem. As for Fabregas, he hasn't really shown anyone that he can step into Xavi's role. If Thiago had worked hard and took the opportunities that came along, he could've been a starter as early as the season after next. I don't think this is going to work out well for anyone.
