So for the likes of France in their 5 team group, all of their games count. So there 14points for example are worth more than Ukraine's even though they have 15 XD It's very stupid its actually very fair, why should points matter vs the crap teams? lol

Then again, it seems they have cleared their misunderstandings from what I read when gooling this issue. So maybe Kießling is an option in the future, but not for the upcoming WC qualifier games, as he isn't in the squad. At least their for Austria, there is no realistic danger to be the worst 2nd place finisher in this situation. Look at group B: The 2nd place finisher there will at most get 13 points (not counting the points against Malta and unless it's Armenia who would need to win in Italy). If Austria defeats Sweden, they have 14 points (not counting those against the Faroe Islands). Well, I meant if Sweden and Austria draw and Germany beats Sweden. Then whoever takes second place between them might be in trouble. Also HELL NO, San Marino are better than the Faroe Islands.

Using France vs Ukraine as example, Ukraine would miss out due to being 3 points less and sat on 12 points. France have 14 even though there group is pretty weak minus Spain. Even though San Marino are by far the worst football team in Europe, Montenegro England Poland are better tests than any of Belarus Georgia and Finland will ever be xD. Oh well, FIFA are FIFA xD So your argument is "Just because this time's 5 country group is weak, the system sucks? I mean if France had San Marino in addition to the other teams they'd have 20 points. 20 > 15. Happy now? lol

Put it this way, if Austria win next 2 games, finish with 20 points in a tough group behind Germany. You then find out your out of the playoffs because France have 15 points after during with Finland away from home and the 6 points you got vs the Faroe Islands don't count and you can't go to the world cup >.< I'd be pissed XD

The last world cup qualifiers it was Netherlands with the 5man group and they had Netherlands Norway Scotland Macedonia Iceland. Netherlands obviously walked that group and Norway missed out on the play offs due to only picking up 10points out of there 10 games. With the lowest points scoring 2nd place team finishing with 12 (after getting 6 points taken away) which was Ireland. So silly way of doing it you ask me. Do you think there is a better way of doing it? If so, which one? Cause I can't think of one right now.

Or you scrap the 9 groups 8x 6 and 1x5 and make it a pre qualifier to get into a 2nd stage. So maccedonia/belarus/finland/san marino/moldova teams like they have to play in a group of 4 with counter parts from that lower side of european rankings, to then join in with the top 50/60 whatever teams in the rankings. Then you would have 20 less teams and smaller groups xD Then no "free wins" so to speak so whatever system is in place in qualifying stage 2 is more fair. Or thinking about it, why not just give the team who is in the group of 5, a bye and have the have +6 points? That way its still down to the team playing? I think i like that way the best

I think i like that way the best pre qualifier stage means more time for international friendlies you know they cant get one more spot, thats the problem, all confederations want more spots for the WC but then other teams cry unfair because its not 100% sure you get +6 points vs the small countries (only san marino is 100% lol), Faroe keep stealing points from time to time Thing is the current system is the best and no team ever cries because there is no better, Europe is just too large

Letting a 3rd placed team get to playoffs would still need a method to compare teams of 5-team and 6-team group. However keep in mind that then Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland would be amongst those lower sides, and I'm sure they would be to ones to cry the loudest against this mode. For many smaller nations, playing against 1 or 2 teams each year are their highlights. Big leagues would love this as the big teams would have fewer overall games though. The teams that would advance from the pre qualifier stage would have more games overall, which would lead to scheduling issues, and therefore this is most likely impossible. Or thinking about it, why not just give the team who is in the group of 5, a bye and have the have +6 points? That way its still down to the team playing? I think i like that way the best Then again the teams in the groups of 6 would be at a disadvantage.

I guess there is no answer when there is an odd number of teams competing ;_; Actually thinking about it this has been resolved?! Haven't Gibraltor been given UEFA status? Won't that mean Gilbraltor will have a national team to compete? That would be the missing 6th to make all groups equal? XD

XD Gibraltar will be there yes, but then Russia is auto-qualified for the next WC so we are back to the same number of teams; though FIFA might change the number of qualified teams from UEFA. For EURO 2016, we have 23 teams to qualify, this gives more room for a better system hopefully.
