I see norwegian media reporting that Per Ciljan Skjelbred (playing for hertha berlin) is doing really well. I haven't seen any matches of him at all myself, but he's basically my favourite player and guy I want to succeed more than any other. is this a case of norwegian media exaggerating his performance (which would certainly not be unheard of), or is he "making waves"? I remember when he dominated against real madrid at the age of 17, then he broke his leg and while he was good after recovering he never seemed close to reaching his potential- but if he's actually currently doing really well in a league which is basically tied-ish for best league then that's awesome.

They attacked Cointreao for smoking too, but only because everyone hates him in Madrid, lol ). I mean our press go mad at players personal lives when they are caught cheating on their wives/girl friends (John Terry and Wayne Bridge saga) yet that happens in every day life like ALL the time, but because someone who is on 100k a week did it. It is a HUGE problem XD Same with smoking, it is something everyone has an opinion on but the press in England would see any sports person in a position of celebrity status? that they should not endorse anything that is harmful. Even though in this case many great footballers have smoked. Ashley Cole probably one of the best Left Backs in the world, he has smoked. Zidane...the god, has been pictured smoking many times. Maradona...even though most of the stuff he smoked was probably illegal xD. Just Englands press for you :D

It makes (some) people feel better about themselves when they see that rich and famous people do some of the same shit that us plebs do.

ZURICH -- FIFA says the top seeds in the 2014 World Cup groups will be host Brazil and the seven best-ranked teams in the October standings. . Friday's decision by FIFA's executive committee means Belgium and Colombia -- which did not qualify for the 2010 World Cup -- are almost assured of being seeded in the Dec. 6 draw. It also means that England are set to drop out of the seeds for this tournament. The current top seven teams are Spain, Argentina, Germany, Italy, Colombia, Belgium and Uruguay. Brazil is ranked No. 8. The other draw pots will be determined by "geographic and sports criteria." FIFA originally planned to agree on a seeding method just before the draw in Salvador de Bahia. But it has opted for a simple reference to its world rankings rather than also weigh teams' performances at previous World Cups. The next rankings are published on Oct. 17. As for construction progress in Brazil, The stadium that will host the World Cup opener in Sao Paulo just had goalposts installed. Organizers in the city of Cuiaba are still trying to find a supplier for the seats for their venue. With less than three months to go before the December deadline established by FIFA for the delivery of the 12 World Cup stadiums, Brazil is working to have all venues ready in time. Local organizers say they'll meet it, but some recent setbacks have prompted concern. Of the six stadiums yet to be delivered, five were less than 90 percent completed by September, according to the most recent government numbers. The other six venues were ready before this year's Confederations Cup -- just barely. Information from The Associated Press was used in this report. Source Happy birthday Pandemona! : D

Btw I was talking about the pro adult coaches, like the Barcelona ones, not my own at school. Also happy b-day Pande!!

Also nowadays the pressure on players to be at peak fitness is way higher than 20 years ago, e.g., I am pretty sure they didn't all have professional diet plans decades ago. As far as I can tell Hertha fans are happy with his contribution, but I wouldn't say there is a hype surrounding him - yet. Hertha's manager seems to hold him in high regard. His average kicker grade is 3.0 on a scale from 1 (best) to 6 (worst), so that's decent (Hertha Ø 3.19)

Holy FUCK Tim Howard's beard. Straight up lumberjack. LOL City's offside trap just got beaten by...Lukaku! 1-0 to Everton after 16 minutes. Looked even better on the replay. Dat cutback to beat Lescott. Instant response! Alvaro Negredo! He got a tap in from Toure! 1-1 18 minutes.
