I don't see them winning or serious contending for Champions League though. Atletico looks sick good this year though so I think they can make it interesting in La Liga and I think they can make a deep CL run too, they are full out dominating their games more than Barcelona or Real so far. Also I think letting Ozil go is gonna be a big mistake by Real, their offense and flow looks so much worse. Indeed, but I'm glad Real made the mistake. He is such an amazing player and one that can really make a difference for Arsenal. Such brilliant passing, vision, technique and he is already combining superbly with the Arsenal midfield.

Probably just rotation. Khedira played the full 90 minutes in both matches for Germany during the international break. And Illaramendi was too expensive to be a bench warmer ![]() On September 16 2013 05:00 Ysellian wrote: Indeed, but I'm glad Real made the mistake. Going off on a bit of a tangent here, but imagine if van Persie stayed... now I feel kinda bad for him. He has to play for the red Everton.

Well Van Persie would have stayed if a player like Özil had been signed when he suggested it But yeah had Van Persie stayed, Arsenal would have had the two best players in the premier league at the moment. But still one cannot underestimate Arsenal's power to throw games so they would have likely finished fourth XD. (and Yes Rebs, I admit Van Persie is a better play than Rooney at the moment) On September 16 2013 07:37 nunez wrote: an honor only surpassed by playing for the blue everton. very impressed with barry, hope mccarthy and lukaku starts next game. I was rather impressed with Barry as well, if he continues to play like this Everton won't miss Fellaini much.

United looked pretty flat at the start of last season to and even on the balance of it I dont think last seasons team was particularly high quality, the were still winning games then, they will win games this year questions is whether the Arsenals, City's and Chelseas can keep up.. Interesting graphic about liverpool squad this season.. ![]() I mean forget the formations and stuff, just that they can field 2 11's like that is pretty decent depth, they just might have a decent season

They already had that core of Agger, Gerrard, Coutinho, Suarez, Sturridge, etc. They just needed depth. http://www.football-italia.net/39516/gomez-has-ligament-damage Gomez nooo ![]()

Especially Lucas has to stay clear of injuries. Gerrard, Johnson and Mignolet better stay healthy aswell! Im really glad we got in some talented center halves, because now we are way less reliant on the amazing Daniel Agger. I also fear tough games with no Henderson in the side, but the lad is a machine and I just have this feeling he can´t get injured. In the striking department we obviously have two very very talented players, but I also think Aspas will grow into quite a player. Coutinho is probably the player most likely to get injured, as other teams target his ankles alot (especially Stoke and Manchester United so far). He will be hard to replace, but a small change in formation will allow Moses or Sterling to slot in and do a job. Both Henderson and Allen can also do a job between the lines, and obviously Suarez can tear up any part of the field. All in all I think Rodgers has done an amazing job so far, and the future looks bright. I havn´t been this optimistic since the great years of Rafa!

Chelsea are stacked with attacking midfielders, but do none of their stars feels comfortable on the right wing? And what role is Willian supposed to play? I don't really understand Mourinho's squad building.

I don't really understand Mourinho's squad building. I think you kinda explained it. He is building a squad, stacking up on attacking talent. Loads of versatile, speedy and direct players. On September 16 2013 21:16 Pandemona wrote: Indeed second squad is miles away from the first BUT, it is like 1000% improvement from 2nd 11s in recent years and i agree this is there best chance at top 4 in years. Started well too which is key, if they stay fit and continue to give the big boys good games like usual and FINALLY start beating the teams they should. They should make it one of the best premiership season to date! Just think who is going to miss out now... Man Utd Man City Chelsea Arsenal Tottenham Liverpool Two of those teams won't be in champions league next season 0.O The funny thing is that last season we actually won most of those "easy" games, but we struggled against the top dogs (at least we didn´t get good results although there were some solid performances). I think the most impressive with Liverpool this season is the cynicism, the flow hasn´t quite been there yet. Its in there though, some team is gonna get hammered soon. I hope its Swansea! I still think we are the team most likely to miss out on the big boys euro action, alongside Tottenham that is. Still anything can happen in that top six there, this season is going to be so exciting!

The first spell Mourinho had in the premiership with Chelsea one of the first things he did was allow Robben and Duff to swap whilst playing RW/LW this was great for us and something he has done at most teams. Not so much at Real Madrid due to Ronaldo being Ronaldo xD The main thing Chelsea need before we start getting into our gear is a striker to step up. Torres is probably the most ideal out of the 3 we have but the main issue with him is he doesn't make the awesome runs Eto'o has built into his game, and he lacks the energy/attitude of Eto'o/Ba bring to their games. If Eto'o can get himself some goals and get used to the premiership quickly we might be alright, but until then we are going to struggle winning games unless our other players score xD
