The defending was disgraceful. Orozco and Zusi did a poor job on the right flank, giving Costa Rica free crosses, and what do you know, one of them connected for a goal. And now we lost Bradley to injury, and Besler, Cameron, and Jozy (he picked a great time to act like a thug) to yellow card accumulation. On the bright side, we actually got a decent referee in a CONCACAF match! And from an Arsenal point of view, Joel Campbell looked great, especially when you consider how little support he had.

Jose Manuel de la Torre's press conference can be seen here, if he turns up.

In theory we could have a good team, but the way they play on the field is just far from what they could achieve. The best 11 we could achieve would be something like Lloris Debuchy - Sakho/Varane Koscielny - Abidal/Digne Pogba - Matuidi Valbuena - Benzema - Ribery Giroud It looks okay but line by line : Abidal will never be back at his best Barcelona years, Digne isn't playing and is unexperimented, Koscielny is good but not awesome, Sakho/Varane are young but aren't playing in the starting 11 of their team, Debuchy isn't in a good team. Pogba has a big potential but isn't even in the Juve 11 (he will probably get there soon though). Valbuena has never been an international quality player, Benzema + Ribery never perform well in the national team. Giroud doesn't perform well either as it seems that he cannot be friend with Benzema (when he has the chance to play, because for some reasons coaches prefer to let him warm the bench...). So out of our 11 best (that are NEVER playing together), maybe only Lloris and Matuidi are solid... You cannot achieve much with that... Even if they were playing good, this team is veeeeeery far from being at the same level as Spain/Germany/Argentina/Brazil/Italy and even team like Belgium/Colombia/Netherlands would probably own us... When a coach will have the balls to kick Ribery, Nasri, Abidal, Sagna, Evra, Benzema forever, maybe we will be able to build a "team"... They aren't even performing well so I don't really understand...

Not because the leagues take a break but because I am always reminded of India's laughable and inadequate team. We can't even qualify for the World Cup qualifiers. We lost to fucking Nepal ffs. If I had to choose between Arsenal winning the champions league and India qualifying for the World Cup, I don't know what I'll do lol What I find surprising is that there isn't a single player in the Indian national team playing in Europe, South America or even Arabia. Assuming only a very small fraction of the Indian population plays football, the talent pool should still be considerable, and scouting India should be rewarding. Is football really that unpopular in India?
