There's a 50% tax if the buyout clause is used, so that's not happening.

well theres reports saying man utd has reached the buyout clause so...not sure whats happening with the tax thing but seems like something is being done

There's a 50% tax if the buyout clause is used, so that's not happening. I am pretty sure Bayern activated Martinez' clause without paying 50% tax. I don't know how they did it though. A buyout clause is between a player and his club only. Basically, if Herrera hands Bilbao €36m, his contract is terminated. That amount then gets taxed so the overall cost rises above 50m, 36 to Bilbao and the rest to the Spanish government. Normally clubs will just sell the player for the buyout fee, without actually using the clause. For example, Spurs paid €30m for Soldado, which was the amount in the buyout clause, but they did the deal directly with Valencia. Unfortunately, as we've seen with Llorente and Martinez, it's hard to negotiate with Bilbao.
This is why PSG actually paid MORE than the buyout clause for Cavani. They came out ahead because they avoided all the tax issues.

Now down to 5 though. He's strong, but he isn't very good building up. Also, he's quite stupid at times and still makes rookie mistakes occasionally. He's also been dropped from the Dutch squad in favor of the PSV CB's, and to be honest, I think the entire Feyenoord (Martins Indi, Mathijssen, De Vrij) is looking pretty weak this season. I'd say 5m is more than enough for a player I don't hope Everton plans on using as a starter...

Arsenal fans awaiting confirmation of the club-record signing of Germany midfielder Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid - we're now hearing from Sky sources that statement could arrive at around 6pm UK time.

are you suggesting that i shouldn't play with any defense or a goalkeeper and only have 11 midfielders on the field?
it would depend on my squad. i'd rather keep baines in everton than get a scholes in f.ex.
baines offensive play is way superior to evras. even though fellaini mops the floor with every midfielder united has atm, stealing baines would probably be just as good.
i think baines would have gotten a filthy amount of assists last season with a capable striker at the end of his crosses.

According to goal.com (not a reliable source, AT ALL), Ozil has finished his medical and signed for Arsenal. I'll still wait until I see the announcent from Arsenal themselves, but this is a huge signing. Not only is he a world class player, but it sends the right message to the current players, fans, and competitors that we mean business. No longer will we be satisfied with just a CL spot at the end of the season. As a gunner, this upcoming season is the first time I've been excited and interested about our prospects since before Fabregas' departure.

I wouldn't mind loaning Demba Ba. He is a good finisher, PL proven, and from what I've seen, has good linkup play with the midfield, and doesn't mind coming deep to receive the ball.
Be a good signing imo, especially with Giroud in such great form.
Oh lawd...
While Gareth Bale seems to edge ever closer to a world-record transfer from Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid, officials at Southampton must be wincing at the thought of missing out on a bumper windfall.
Bale left St Mary's to sign for Tottenham in 2007 for £5 million, plus £5m in potential add-ons, and a sell-on clause guaranteeing Southampton 25% of any future transfer away from White Hart Lane.
But the Saints renegotiated the deal when they found themselves in financial difficulties in 2008, accepting £3m to waive any future income from Bale, whose proposed transfer to Real Madrid is anticipated to break the £80m record the Spanish giants paid for Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009.
The prospect of missing out on £20m or more may sting, but the move did at least help to secure Southampton's future. The club was bought and had its debt cleared in 2009, sparking a rise from League One to the Premier League.
And there's always Theo Walcott - Southampton still have a similar clause in place should the Arsenal forward ever leave the Emirates.

Chelsea want like £2 million for the loan though, which is ridiculous. I hope they work something out because I do like Ba and think he would fit in very well at Arsenal. I also hope we can secure a decent CB before the deadline ends, though Wenger doesn't seem to be interested in that position. I think our current squad is solid enough, and with the summer additions, we can push or a silverware - though perhaps not a major one.

FC Augsburg loan Leverkusen's 19 year old Polish forward Arkadiusz Milik. He's somewhat of a wonderkid in FM13, so I'm excited to see how this kid develops at the club.

speaking of fm... fm14 is going to be available on linux. already preordered!

hard for me to decide to get the new fm because I have a beautiful career on fm2012 that has had ups and downs. If fm14 is sick then I will get it though .

I dont get why ManU wants to buy Herrera for 36 MILLION EUROS. Seems like a panic transfer for me. According to transfermarkt.de his value is 8 Million and last season he only archieved 1 goal and 2 assists in 29 matches.
WTH would pay 36 Millions for him? Thats retarded. Bayen payed the same amout for Götze and only 25 million for Thiago.
