He scored twice and got 2 assists in the last national game with argentina like 10 days ago iirc. He's fine thank god.
But Tito should force him to rest for some games during the season, let neymar play, he's young he can take it.

Messi not been doing much in the Summer so he should be ok, plus La Liga starts later than other domestic leagues. So i think he should be ready to go come game 1.
Players like Xavi Iniesta Alba and Busquets might need more of a rest though having played a long hard season then going into confeds cup and playing over there. Be interesting the effects it has. I know Chelsea players involved in that competition are only given a 2 weeks break before they start back for Pre Season (July 15th)

What? You are not very well informed, because a lot of money at PSG is being spent right now on building a new training center. The president is taking care of long term developement. The Paris area is the largest in europe in term of population and they try to develop the network of clubs in the region to better detect talents. That's also why he's so keen to bring in Wenger because he is so long term minded and put much emphasis on youth development.
Monaco has had a world class youth academy for decades, nothing new here.

Capello is a huge douche. He told the police to move messi's brothers, neymar's father and mario yepes' sons from the bench. Immediately when messi saw that he asked to be sub'd and left the stadium without even showering, lol.
What a dick this fabio. It's a game for the players to relax and the fans to watch some nice goals, why would you even do that. Nevermind that, at least don't ask from the police to move the poor people like they are criminals, rofl.

Back then Pounds were worth more comparing to Euro's iirc. His numbers might very well be true. Also the fact that in 2003-2005 money was worth like 10-15% more than what it's worth now (when talking same numbers), I'd say Chelsea is no different than the big spenders currently.
And yeah, the profit of 1.4million can't be taken seriously. Extenuating circumstances and all.
Anyway..
anyone else feel like Cavani is hugely overrated and definitely not worth € 63m?

In 2003-2004 Euro to Pound was somewhere between 1,45 to1,5 Euros for 1 pound which makes our numbers roughly equal, only depending on the actual daily value.

anyone else feel like Cavani is hugely overrated and definitely not worth € 63m? I do. He's a very good striker but he is not "legendary" like someone described him in the Confed Cup thread. We're talking about a team that reportedly paid €50m for Torres, though. By that standard Cavani is worth € 1billion.

The way Abramovich dealt with the debt Chelsea had to him is also sketchy to say the least and still leaves Chelsea greatly exposed to the debt.

Was fun to watch . Amazing how Swart's 75 years old and still played an hour of football. Also fun to see Cruyff playing, he still had some genius moments hah.
Obviously the team with van der Sar, van der Vaart and Sneijder was gonna win (Swart's team) as they're the fittest players being still active and such.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. He's a decent striker, has his moments but isn't Falcao/Ibrahimovic/van Persie good imo. Granted I haven't watched much of him, but everytime I do, he doesn't really impress me, like in the Conf Cup.

Well I don't think RvP is a top class striker. How you described cavani would fit more on rvp I think.
Oh well, opinions. xD

goddam it korea just let us score : ( can't believe I miss the first 15 minutes of the match and colombia are down 1-0.

RvP is a top striker for sure lol xD I haven't watched much of his games or Cavani's anyway. So I can't be sure if he is much better or not... but I kinda agree Cavani for 63 sounds too high. Time will tell.
Thiago Silva on the other hand I agree is worth like 37+ easy. Best CB in the world right now, plain better than David Luiz.

A cool 13 mill spent on classy Ferreira aswell this window. The Following year SWP enters to spend some time at the bench, even more expensive than Carvalho, and in 2005 this is still big big big money. Zhirkov at 18 mill is another expensive defender that spends most of his time elsewhere than the pitch. Luis cost north of 20 mill, he looks promising though!
Veron, Mutu, Crespo, Parker, Duff, Robben, Shevchenko, Pizzaro, Belletti, Deco, Quaresma, Torres, Benayoun, Meireles and Oscar are another few handfuls of players that have been bought at steep prices and/or have been paid wages way north of what you would expect in comparison to their contribution.
You are lucky to have a sugardaddy buying stars and glory to the club you love, but don't kid yourself and think its any different from City, Monaco and PSG. Enjoy winning!
