He'll have missed a quarter of the season, and his team is still dominating without him. Yeah, it's hard for goalies to win it, but that doesn't mean that Bobrovsky's not clearly deserving of it. I expect that we'll get something stupid like Ovechkin winning it, though. No one who votes probably watched any Columbus games this year so yeah, something stupid like Ovechkin might happen. People who trumpet Ovechkin's recent production should keep in mind that he puts up most of his points when playing against the terrible, terrible Southeast division. He benefits from the shortened schedule and the higher-ratio of games played within that division. When not in the position to beat up on terrible teams, he fares far worse. An MVP should be, to some degree, able to carry his team - not just padding his stats against the Florida Panthers.

The terrible Southeastern division leading Capitals outplayed the Northeastern division Maple Leafs and Canadiens in every facet of play in 3 recent games. The Capitals ate em ... lead by Ovechkin. Got to see Ovechkin live against the Leafs and he did some stuff no other player on the planet can do. The key to limiting Ovechkin is positional team defense. Even then, he still generates chances. Ovechkin's only real weakness is that he becomes a defensive liability when he gets "Sergei Berezin" tunnel vision. Ovechkin is easily one of the top 10 best players on the planet.. and in my book is #2 to Crosby. Now that Ovechkin is producing Don Cherry is crediting Adam Oates for his renaissance. whatever. The guy is a great hockey player ... end of story. As long as Ovechkin stays healthy he'll kick some serious ass this playoff season.

Stop arguing against stuff that no one is arguing. I don't care how 'good-you-saw' Ovechkin at a damned Leafs game.

I'm from Minnesota and I hope we don't get into the playoffs. The Jackets deserve it so much more. Everything about the Wild's play has been shameful. This state deserves a better professional hockey organization with the hockey culture we have here.

If we get into the playoffs, a lazy Yeo, the lazy coaching/front office staff, and the lazy players will all get passes. If anything, what would probably be one of the worst collapses in U.S. sports in the past couple years would might actually light a fire under the collective asses of the entire organization.

It makes perfect sense considering the Raptors and Toronto FC need to step up their game. The Leafs will be fine. We know the kind of loyalty to the brand the fans have and they're well on their way in every aspect of the business.

The team hasn't made it to the playoffs in years and years and years. Just one taste of that stanley cup hope is exactly what the team needs to get its shit together over the off season.
