David Luiz and Ramirez, don't you dare score against your former team >_> Also, that was a scary situation with the Fener player. I thought we were gonna have a Fehér moment in an Europa League semi-finals. Fuck. Haha, indeed! I have a Portuguese Benfica fan who is a mate of mine i worked with for a few years. He said the reason you fucked up over in Turkey was because you yourselves have tough games in the league coming up aswell. Having to play Porto soon, and being 4 points clear you need make sure you win to wrap up the league! I will invite him round for the final i think ![]() Should be a good game though, both excellent footballing sides. The only worry i have is that we might be pretty fucked (physically) by the time we play you, hope not though >.< Oh also, what a bag of shite UEFA are...10,000 tickets each for supports of Benfica and Chelsea for the final. So fucking shite! 10,000 for a major cup final! What a joke >.< The rest is all corporate >.<

Also means the clubs can charge ridiculous prices for the tickets as they become gold dust >.<

I can't think of any other player I'd rather have instead of Matic for his position. He's truly world class. Gaitan is playing out of his mind, our strikers are hitting everything. The team is playing with such heart that one really starts to see an aura around them. It's the best Benfica team I've seen since I was a kid, since Rui Costa's early days in the 90s. The final will be a fantastic game.

Fucking premiership so packed fixture wise! what pisses me of the most is that we play Spurs on weds 19:45pm and then Villa @ 12:45pm on Saturday, that seems so unfair ![]()

Not getting any yellow cards might mean that Lahm is not playing with the optimal levels of aggression. That or he just sweet talks referees in the beginnings of the games. ![]() Nah, Lahm is just able to solve even hairy situations in a more or less lawful manner.

And doing that is pure hell. After that it's the Europa League finals with Chelsea, I think, then last league match and Portuguese Cup finals afterwards.

It´s not that he is not willing to foul if its necessary, its just with his speed and his positional game he don´t have to 99% of the time. One of the most underated players of this time in my opinion.

And he also sacrificed his offensive abilities for more defensive quality

It certainly hurt his offensive capacities when he had to switch sides a few times and connect with different players.

We won from time to time a few cups or showed good results, but it was never impressive. We did watch to other countrys and saw their starplayers and their huge transfer fees. For me, I realized we were 2nd class in football. In the year 2000 after a horrible Euro for Germany (out in the groupstage), the german football association (DFB) and the clubs forced an total system change with better Infrastructure, resulting in a better coaching and player education. Because we didn't have had the money for stars our young talents had the chance to compete in the Bundesliga and grow as players. It's nearly impossible to say how important this Champions League Final for Germany is. There were many downs and not many ups in the last 15years. It feels like the german football did build this sucess with it's own hands. And it's sexy to watch.

I used to dislike German football too but since 2006 they have become really fun to watch, but unfortunately so many people still remember "old" Germany and still hate them to this day.
