Zneit also wanted Papadopolous from Schalke for 20 millions. Schalke was ready to give in, but Papadopolous still chose to stay.

You are correct but sadly money talks and more money = more tittles. And brace yourself com it will get even worse with the so called "financial fair-play".

The term "level playing field" is incorrect because there will still be clubs making a lot more money than other clubs. While Madrid and Barcelona will need to get rid of their debt, the money they make is still much larger than the rest of the field. The same is true for many English teams, sure there is a lot of debt but they still make a ton more money too. The FFP does tackle teams like Man City or Anhzi who simply don't make much money but still get to spend a lot because of their owners. But will the UEFA really punish these teams when it is needed? I have my doubts. The FFP will most likely make smaller teams operate more healthy financially, but probably do nothing to level the playing field in the long run.

I have my doubts. The FFP will most likely make smaller teams operate more healthy financially, but probably do nothing to level the playing field in the long run. I wouldn't say it will get "worse" with financial fairplay (depends on what you want your competition to look like, hence subjective), but it will definitely benefit the teams with large incomes. To clear up any misunderstandings: the financial fairplay concept says that you cannot spend more money than your income is over the average of the last 3 years, and you are allowed to level out discount up to 45 million euros by an external investor. Hence, as it says nothing about your current debt, teams with huge debts as Valencia are not affected directly, as long as they don't run bankrupt. They won't be able to increase their debt, but the wages and transfer figures you are able to pay are only dependent on your income. The overall effect will be, if it FFP will be introduced and obliged in its current state, that big teams with high income will dominate the competition, as they already do, minus the teams that currently break into this phalanx with the help of an external investor. Money will still rule the game, only the competitors will not suddenly change.

Ronaldo reasons remain unclear Cristiano Ronaldo's agent claims to be fully aware of the reasons for the Portuguese superstar's sadness at Real Madrid but is refusing to give anything away. The behaviour has led to mass speculation about a bust-up within the Real squad or an apparent desire from the 27-year-old for a new contract. "I am aware of the reasons behind Ronaldo's words and it is up to him to disclose them or not," Mendes wrote in a statement on the website of his company, Gestifute. He added: "I am not surprise by them and they cause me no discomfort. Those who know my relationship with Ronaldo know he will always count on my total solidarity." Source
