This is just mindblowing. 2 players i can tell you to follow: Etienne Capoue, the Toulouse midfielder, like way more technical than M'vila, very solid and verry physical. He's like a Diaby without the injuries. Rio Mavuba, Lille Defensive midfielder, same profile as M'vila except he is better, more technical and less overhyped so less expensive. I'm not saying he's the best midfielder in the world. But judging from what I've seen personally, I think he's a huge talent. Maybe he become the next Viera or maybe he turns out to be just another solid French midfielder. You don't fancy him and that's your opinion. Wenger has a good touch with young players and I'm hoping M'Vila can become sick good for us. It's way better than having Diaby, who frankly has looked very sluggish these two games and is not a player you challenge for titles with. We sold Song, so we definitely have the money to lay on M'Vila. Capoue is definitely an interesting prospect, but I haven't seen enough of him to say if I want him or not. Mavuba is solid, but probably a bit old for Wenger's taste.
Basically, I think we need a defensive mid, and since it looks like M'Vila will leave I hope we pounce on him. I'll be happy with anyone at this point, as long as it's a quality player.

Same here, i dont really understand the hype around Mvila. He played 2 good games with France during the Euro qualifiers, but never really impressed in Ligue 1 and barely played 5 games in EL. Whatever, 13m€ is a good deal for Rennes, imo
It's even worst, he's never been good with France, i never saw him do a beautifull long range pass like he sometimes does for Rennes. He cannot even support a good pressing, this player disapears if he has one man on him, because he doesn't have the kind of ball cover Pirlo or Verratti has for exemple. He's verry average technicaly besides his good passes. And one more thing, he can't even play 1 touch football, he is obsessed by finding a good pass so he keep the ball, touch it 5 times, then pass on a side or sometimes does a long pass if he sees a run.

Why would you want him to be the next Viera he doesn't even play in the same position, and besides that Viera is like 10 clsses aboove and he'll always be, the next Viera if there is one, is Diaby. If you expect M'vila to replace Diaby and be even better this is just crazy. If you consider Diaby average (he's for me a verry good player), then you'd consider M'vila shockingly bad. I do't want you to have wrong expectations.
Edit: When i see the hype there's been around Cabaye in england i understand a little bit more how a Midfielder who can do a pass can impress in this country

How did they manage to get that ranking in the Euro coefficients. All the teams there just suck and with Barca struggling against teams like that they got no chance in europe. And dont even get me started on Madrid, United, City and PSG. VIDEO REPLAYS FUCK YEAH ! + Show Spoiler +that was surprisingly fun, I see why people do it. what offside goal brought torres in form? he thinks the offside goal against reading suddenly made torres confidence go from 40% to 110% Actually I was displaying an example of how comments like that are absolute bullshit. See how many panties got in a twist after I repeated 10 lines of ignorant nonsense ? Obviously none of the responses paid attention to the discussion prior. Best part is when someone does counter ignorant bs with some sound reasoning you get trolled with brilliant quips like this.. So I'm just going to do the same thing.. That you guys have to defend Chelsea so hard pretty much already shows how favored they are by referees. dadum.. you post a lot of ignorant stuff anyway, therefore how am i supposed to differentiate? Dono, the other guy got it, ask him. Also before you call someone out for that, you might want some examples. your posting during chelsea's champions league run
uhh,, what was wrong about it ? I dont think at any point I criticized Chelsea for anything. The way they played was the best option at the time even if I dont personally like it.
Your confusing me for someone else. Pretty sure I gave shit to everyone who complained about the way they won it. I even used the word stellar in there somewhere but that was just related to the defense in the semi second leg.
Again when you call out someone make sure you know what your doing.

As a Spurs man, thank god Modric is finally gone, and for fucks sake why did we do this again, leaving it to the last few days of the transfer window to spend. And please god, can we please spend.

As much as I disagree with Rebs about a lot of opinion-based arguments (mostly to do with favouring styles), there is no way that he is a bad poster or does not know about football. I'd warrant he is one of the most knowledgable guys on this forum in football. It was so obvious he wasn't being serious in that reply.
Chelsea have had a lot of favourable calls especially at home, I would say we are probably in the top 5 of 'favoured' clubs. Not as bad as Man U though. I also am still unsure about Torres, but optimistic that he can make this season at least a 15 goal season if not more.
By the way, the fact that Levy could only get 24 mill for Modric is unbelievably pathetic. He could have gotten twice that selling to Chelsea. What a moron.

2) The whole "Chelsea offered 40 million last year!" argument is utter bullshit. Their final offer was 30 mill + Alex, whom they rated at 10. There's no way in hell Alex would have agreed to personal terms with Spurs, because it'd mean a colossal pay cut. Don't forget, QPR tried to grab him in the January transfer window but couldn't offer near enough wages. Alex is now playing for PSG where you can be sure he's well compensated.
3) Selling him to another premiership team would be stupid.

Like every other year? Last year they failed miserably ;P
And La Liga teams have already learned how to counter their tiki taka, zero physicality, zero crossing/ heading ability. I'm confident that if European teams just copy that then Barcelona will look a lot less invincible.
