I'm just really passionate about this team and want to show more about korea's football team. This thread seems like a very good place

Doubt they could beat any of the top teams like Germany or Spain but then again, stranger things have happened in football. Their biggest problem is the lack of a real finishers IMO - Park Chu Young isn't all that great these days and while there are younger options from K-League, they'll probably end up fielding Lee Dong Guk as their second striker who honestly is a massive wash and should have retired years ago lol. Yeah, the lack of finishers seems to be a problem for most asian teams really. Japan has no one noticeable up front either. And as for Lee Dong Gook, i'm so tired of seeing this choker again and again. Hiddink didn't call him up in 2002, injured in 2006, missed a golden opportunity against uruguay in 2010 world cup, and has scored 1 goal in 8 matches of qualification despite playing and starting in most of them. I'd try Ji dong won, but he just doesn't have potential despite his young age. He's tall but not physical, and lacks pace. But anyway, tons better than Lee dong gook. Heck, at this point, i'd try son heung min up front because he played there at a young age. too bad son can't really hold the ball up at all.

The Japanese got a Dutch guy for that. Maybe Korea should follow.

I'm pretty certain Zaccheroni is italian, unless you're mentioning some previous manager. and korea has had their share of dutch managers lol. Hiddink was one of the few that turned out to be a success.

Doesn't the K-League have a bunch of mediocre Brazilian forwards eligible for Korean citizenship?

But he rarely starts.... There are a few players that tried to get or received korean citizenship. One of them is radoncic, but honestly, he is way worse than ji dong won, and dare i say, lee dong gook. Eninho plays attacking mid, but can't speak a lick of korean. Radoncic on the other hand tried. I really want dejan damjanovic but he plays for montenegro. And korea is a pretty sensitive country when it comes to naturalizing players. I'm fairly sure there hasn't been one yet that played for the national team. So if we even tried to get eninho to play for us, the public outrage would be huge because he hasn't really accepted korean culture/can't speak the language.

Won't that equate to the problems with the national team too?

There might be corruption issues, but i think the domestic league is moving in the direction. It just implemented a relegation/promotion system. And i guess the good thing with playing all these domestic players instead of euro players the past few games is that we really know what we have domestically now.

Hint: Currently, the number is 12 and the goal count to beat is 44. Uh, oh poor Messi getting so close to the goal. Valladoid outscored him by 3 goals, La Coruna by mere 1 goal. He can console himself, however, with 9 teams with lesser scoring record, including Getafe, Levante, Athletic and Espanyol (haha, local rivals).

Every interview you see Mourinho have he sees "every player will have the chance to impress me, i wont loan anyone out or sell them before i see them and they have a chance to impress me" Yet papers for last 2 weeks, Luiz is off to Barca and Mata too. Fkn hate stupid stories papers write this time of year >.<

What manager on this planet would get rid of Juan Mata? Without even talking/seeing him train. It's just plain silly. However if this story is still going on after Mata comes back to pre season training and clearly has had words with Mourinho, then fine you have your answer, but until then, im pretty sure Mata will be at Chelsea
