We also signed Nemanja Matic's brother, Uros Matic. Maybe the strategy is based around the idea that Nemanja Matic will be one of the best players in the world in the coming years and we have to do everything to make him as happy as possible staying in Benfica? I don't understand what's happening, it's like we just signed a Serbian manager all of a sudden. N Matic, U Matic, Djuricic, Sulejmani and Markovic. Who's next?

You probably get more for your money if you buy Dzeko who speaks German and dominated in the Bundesliga already. If we get Dzeko and Eriksen I would be very happy. Then maybe Jetro Willems as Prospect and a young new CB.

About Clasie: I think he's too pricy for Benfica. Feyenord probably want something in the likes of 15M+ and Benfica price range only goes to 10M (usually)

Jetro Willems is a terrible player btw. No-one has any clue why v. Marwijk used him as a starter in the last Eurocup while he was 18 years old. He can't defend if his life depended on it and when he goes forward he goes on a blind run and eventually runs into a few defenders or delivers a superpoor cross.

The situation really sucks as I'm a big fan of Indi, the guy has all the qualities to scare attackers. But it's almost certain that Indi will be leaving in the summer. I was hoping Benfica would be more interested because Indi was born in Portugal and actually speaks Portuguese and Benfica feels like a great step for talented players to get even better. edit: And as Twisted mentioned. Feyenoord can't really say no to a good offer because the finances aren't great yet.

Lol Essien with him...ahah no he will be sold/whatever he has no place at Chelsea now i don't think. Too many injuries. Why i say Chelsea are favorites or will start out bookmakers favorites is because; 1. Mourinho knows the premier league and his 2 full seasons, won it easily (10+ points league and 1 record points tally) 2. Pellegrinni doesn't know English football, = instant u lose value, he is an unknown quantity for that 3. Moyes at United is going to be a HUGE transition period, don't forget that united squad WAS SHIT, as proven in the games vs West Brom (5-5) and Reading 3-2 (all goals in under 40minutes). Fergie some how got his team to win that title last season, HOW i do not know, but there is no chance Moyes can do that with that squad. 4. Chelsea will arguably by the least players out of the 3 clubs, BUT the players we have (should) only get better and better as they are growing up. Don't forget these Chelsea players did all the last end of the season on empty (clearly shown) and they still managed to win a Europa League and finish 2 points clear in 3rd(somehow)

- Rooney is priority #1 and Rooney is said to be very interested. Not to replace Ibra, mind you. Ibra stays. - Leonardo would take over as a coach for one year until Wenger's end of contract. Top two candidates are still Capello and Benitez

Those two games prove Lindegaard is shit, little more. De Gea has been the main keeper for most of the season so this is not an issue. Also let's not forget City lost to Norwich the same weekend United drew West Brom, league was already over and had been over for weeks. Chelsea was still playing for the 3rd spot. United won the league because, for most of the season while the team was healthy, they won their matches. The losses started coming after Cleverley and almost every winger on the team all went down at the same time. This does bring up an actual issue, which is that Carrick and Cleverley is the only reliable midfield partnership on the team. That needs to be fixed. We lost games where Giggs had to play CM just like we lost those games last season. This season SAF was just smart enough to not do that when it wasn't necessary ![]() Other factors for the title win: * De Gea, both his improvement and securing the regular starting spot * RVP consistent goal scoring, particularly in the early season when Utd established a lead * Rafael's overall improvement * return of Vidic * Carrick improving his play, and the development of a consistent partnership with Cleverley who provides the energy/mobility he lacks

I don't know of any evidence beyond that about doping in Benfica in football. About Porto being evil, yes it is. There's just undeniable and overwhelming evidence about Porto buying out referees and picking the referees for the games. There's undeniable and overwhelming evidence about Porto management running prostitution rings. There's undeniable evidence that the corruption extends to the police and judicial system in the north of Portugal. Hell, Porto players can run over people and kill people, escape the scene, be proven guilty in court, but get away without a sentence. No doubt from a results perspective, Porto is an extraordinary success from 1985-now, whereas Benfica is a case study of incompetence up until recently. However, if there arises any evidence for corruption at the level described above involving Benfica's current management, the only moral and right thing for me to do would be to boycott the club until it's clean. Sorry for other people in the thread with no interest in Portuguese clubs.
