James Rodriguez and João Moutinho reported to fly to Monaco this morning with Jorge Mendes (their agent). Rumour has it that it will involve a 70M€ fee for both. That's what modern football is becoming. World Class Players playing just for money. No CL or Europa League for them next year. To be fair, if someone paid me stupid money to play for Monaco i would accept. That city is stupidly nice, would love to be able to live there. Also that Lazar Markovic was supposidly a target for Chelsea ![]() Haha gotta love Portuguese clubs and their contracts ![]()

Lazar Markovic has a really bright future ahead of him, he has received as much hype as Jovetic over here so Benfica have done some really good business if they have indeed snapped him up. Though Serbian media isn't saying anything which is weird... About New York City FC, why didn't they just buy out the Cosmos? Didn't the Yankees play a big part in building Cosmos back in the 70's? And another question. Is City a franchise or a traditional club? As in if they moved to Oklahoma City would they be called Oklahoma City City? Or they don't have a name its just the name of the city (NYC) with 'football club' put on the end?

And Porto payed 9M for Jackson Martinez (I told his name was rodriguez before, my bad!) in the beggining of the year. And he was the top goal scorer of the league and an all arround great player. Porto won't sell him for less than 30M, that's for sure!

I don't think many clubs will pay that sum (yet) though and certainly not Dortmund, but I've been wrong before. ![]() And Benfica seem to be doing some good business on the market. Who is going to leave at the end of the season tho? If we believe in the News, Garay is already sold for 20M to any of this 3 clubs (City, United or Madrid). Gaitan will probably leave too for something arround 20-25M. I hope Benfica won't sell any1 else... Certainly not Salvio, Enzo or Matic! Although Salvio and MAtic have 60 and 50M Clauses respectively, so probably noone will touch them.. I'm more worried with Enzo :

Yeah Garay is fucking sick defender. Argentinan's best defender in a long time imo. Real were stupid to let him go and keep Pepe instead. Ramos RB Varane Garay CB Coentrao/Marcelo LB is a very very nice looking defense.

Btw has Garay's replacement already been bought? There were some rumours a long time ago that Benfica were looking at one of my team's star defenders (Bruno Martins Indi), just wondering if this is the Dutch media just making up stuff or have you heard about it as well?

And that the anti doping comitee (that was really weak at the time) was controlled by the club. But the authorities never got into it... But you never know, because in Italy the football justice tend to work. If that would be applied in Portugal, Porto would already be in the 4th division (Take in mind that i'm a Benfica fan and this might be a slightly biased opinion). Typical Melonhead fan....why don't you talk about ur club, who ACTUALLY got athletes banned for doping in several sports, or even the rather suspicious deaths in the pitch just some days appart...yea thought so, go ahead and "quote" a buthhurt brazilian crackhead who has his butt sore from sitting in the bench coz he wasnt good enough to play for us....

On Topic, I think Enzo have probably a 25-30M clause (i'm not sure) and the problem with Benfica Strikers is that they're Old... Cardozo os 28 or 29 and Lima is 30... And Ysellian, i've never hear about that player... And there's no mention to him in Benfica Foruns so it might be the dutch media.

But seriously, this multibillion industry is not gonna start saying "omg messi is doping, lets ban him" or "omg dortmunds physios are more like drug dealers lets disband the team", they would be dumb to do something like this. They would lose so much money. Haven't you ever read news about a champion/team whose medals got revoked? Cause I think I hear at least 2-3 major cases every year. In eastern germany and in general all communist countries during cold war, the doctors literally stuffed up the athletes with all kinds of performance drugs. There are countless documentaries and interviews, go watch them. The same situation was not revealed for the western athletes of the time, americans, french, british etcetc. So how can you explain the fact that these athletes who were seemingly pure(lol) were able to compete and even beat their doped rivals? I hope your responses guys will not be about unicorns and rainbows and how you would give your life for dortmunds sake, lol. This is 2013, not the cold war. You basically say that "in your opinion" every athlete out there does drugs and is a cheat, and I don't buy that for a single second mate. I am crazy for all kinds of sports (except snooker, I think its boring), and of course I am aware of the fact that certain athletes have been cheating, but to claim that they all do it... Thats just so far out.
