On a little random note. My friends and I are doing a pool of sorts, predicting games and all. We plan on having a replica barclays premier league trophy that is given to the winner. I am having a hard time finding one that isn't 6 inches tall. Does anyone know of a spot to buy one that is at least 1/2 size?

Thanks!

League Tables updated for those domestic seasons which have started! (French/Dutch/Russian)
Also super cups have results if you missed any.

How have PSG only drawn their first game btw? >.<

They were absolute shit during the first half and their defence looked really uncomfortable all game long. They should bench Alex, he's terrible. They had a great second half as far as offence goes, with like ten clear chances, with Ibra-Lavezzi-Menez linking up beautifully. Ibra scored two (his first goal was fucking beastly) to tie up the two scored by Lorient in the first half (one of which was an own goal by Maxwell :|). I still think they'll have a great season, with Motta, Pastore and SIlva still to play.

Also, Man City has reportedly picked up Jack Rodwell from Everton. I fear that Rodwell will be another bench player and waste away in City.

Yeah its big money, will be £30million imo. A complete waste of money for a player that is mediocre and wont play.

Oh so PSG started slow and got punished with Alex's slow pace at the back, same old xD

Also it's 6 days until the Premier League starts so finish off your dream team and get it in! Adds to the fun of the thread

Doesn't he play on the wings though? You have the likes of Walcott, Gervinho, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Santa, (new malaga player) possibly Podolski to all play in that position, guess it only natural the younger in experienced player gets sent out on loan. But i think he still needs prove himself, he did well at Bolton, and now he needs to really shine at Wigan, which i think he will as Wigan play football all the time.

Although I'd love him to finally get the chance in Arsenal, I agree with loaning Miyaichi out again, especially to an EPL club. With Cazorla just joining, Ryo won't get much playing time, so it's a good move. We have a bit too many wingers atm, so offloading Walcott or Gervinho would be nice.

Here's hoping Torres will rediscover his form of old. Solid in the Euros and pretty good against Man City. It's going to come down to whether or not he can get some things that massively boost his confidence or massively detract. I'm also interested to see how Newcastle and Liverpool manage this season. For me the two most interesting amongst a lot of very interesting storylines.

Yea kid has to get some more time at smaller clubs. Wouldnt want another Jack Wilshere, Arsenal are after all experts at times at rushing hot prospects in and then losing half of them to injuries that make them half the players they used to be.

Yeah, seeing Torres vs Man City @ Villa park i was impressed with him again, heres hoping he scores vs Wigan so he can keep his scoring record up, if he starts the season well it will keep the press off his back.

I see Newcastle finishing 8th maximun this time. Liverpool will probably be 6th behind Spurs

So i've just read that Sun (lol) has printed an article about RVP's transfer to MAN U. I know that source is dubious (to say at least), but what are your thoughts about it? I sincerely hope it isn't true. We don't need another striker and it's questionable how will he perform this year.

Don't wonder if anyone saw Sheffield Wednesday vs Oldham last night but it was quality, Oldham 2-0 up come the first half. Manager gives godly team talk of DOOM and Sheffield W come out and score 4 goals in a row to win the match. Would have been awesome to be a fly on the wall at that team talk.

Apparently Tottenham have bid for Gastón Ramírez but once again the wages were too low.
The kicker is that "Tottenham could raise their offer if they sell Modric and in that case the deal could be done".

Fucking get rid of Modric already :@

Tottenham are always going to have that horrific stopping point of the uncompetitive wages, it's simply not feasible to stay where they are with wages like that...UNLESS you have a wonder coach who commands respect and can get in the ear of players, like Redknapp...oh wait. There's only so much you can get from emotionally blackmailing and pressuring your players into staying if you're not going to raise your bizarrely low wage limit.

I doubt this is true. Fergie already has Rooney, Chicharito and Welbeck as top starting choices, I think it's unreasonable to believe he'd bloat up his offence even more with a player like RVP who would expect a consistent spot in the starting 11. I think RVP would sooner go to Real, who have expressed interest in the past, than to Man U. He'd have a better chance of replacing Benzema at RM, but that would be about it.

He's got a good thing going for him at Arsenal, and it'd do him a disservice to leave if he's only looking for a champion's trophy.

In addition I doubt they're going to invest that much money into a 29 year old who they can write off after 2-3 years.
