Very interesting article on the 'myth' of 'Fergie time'. It comes with some insightful stats as well, though the final conclusion might be a tad obvious. Here's a snippet:
Former Premier League referee Graham Poll says that when you're refereeing, you don't believe in Fergie time.
"You dispel it as popular myth of teams that are jealous of Manchester United's success."
But when you take a step back, he says, you realise there could be something in it.
"I think it would be too easy to just say it's rubbish. When you analyse and think psychologically what happens, the pressure that's on you at Old Trafford or the Emirates or Stamford Bridge, the pressure that is implied upon you must have an effect, even if subconsciously."
Your right it was rather obvious. I dont think averaging out results like that is really going to get any analysis anywhere.
Theres so many other variables. Regardless I still dont think United get alotmore time than other top teams really. They are just better at using it which makes it seem like they get more.
another scrappy performance from united, I guess they won but that team isn't going to win the champions league any time soon and probably not the league once City step out of first gear

City wont step out of first gear with Mancini im affraid.
And united do this every year though, its annoying. Without the front 3 they have United are an average side. Worst midfield in the champions league i would say. But they are united the fuckers xD always do stupid crap and win when it matters.
What the hell was Wenger thinking in that game? Has he gone completely senile?
The substitutions he made are an insult to the fans. Any other top team would have finished that game with 3 or 4 strikers on the field. Instead we ended it with our most in form players being subbed out for the worlds most brainless footballer, Gervinho, and a defensive midfielder. Meanwhile the invisible man Arteta and mediocre Jenkinson+Ramsey stay on the field. Seeing Coq come on at the end left me absolutely furious. I dread the clobbering we're going to get at Everton in a couple days.

Barcelona has a weaker looking team than last year though, they've been scraping by some of their games, I really think it's only a matter of time before they start dropping points too.
Or it's like last year they had a way higher ceiling but sometimes came out listless and got a bunch of draws cause of that, this year they are avoiding draws more consistently so far in the league and still doing enough in CL but just look like not as brilliant a team. Since they are giving up goals way more often it looks more like reckless attacking (throw 8 men forward all the time) that they've been on a good run with, rather than a well-balanced strategy that shuts the other teams down while controlling the offense.
You're right, they haven't looked that good this season and they'll probably drops points here and there. But then again, Real Madrid have looked far from their best as well and I expect them to drop more points. I just don't see RM overturning a 11 point deficit if Barcelona secures that today.

Yea they will drop points, but 11 is a bit much. Thats why the game is more about sometimes just doing what you have to, to win rather playing well.
Some games they have looked so off (and if you play badly and play the way Barca play your royally fucked) I felt bad for real having dropped those points because they have looked ridiculously good this season and are sitting so far behind because they are having more off days. Real at their best are so much stronger than Barca at the moment.
I think Mourinho is a little overrated. He has one of the more expensive players of the world (lot of them requested by himself) and three years later Real Madrid doesn't play anything. I still dont understand today Madrid gameplan.
Then He talks after the game: He has blamed the referee, The Calendar favoring Barcelona, the Madrid president and directive, and his players... He always blame everyone after a loose, he never says anyhing about gameplay.
The calendar favoring barcelona is so much BS lol. We have played more times in Thursday + Saturday than Madrid has. He only remembers to talk about it when it affects his next match result, his hypocrisy is off the charts as usual.

At least we managed to get the win, again... maybe we should just give the other team a 1-0 head start every game so that we start playing our proper game straight from the kick-off...
QPR was stupid to make that goal... with 0-0 QPR would have gotten 1 point but by making 0-1 goal it was gambling right there.

mourinho gameplan is to win, simple as that
hes already won cup and championship beating the arguably best team ever created

Yea mostly because he never sticks around to see himself lose for very long.
As for what hes done at Madrid, maybe you should go ask them how satisfied they are with how things have gone the last couple of years.
