I agree, but I'm just talking about their fat percentages. I just picked them because they were similarly built.

Eh. I'm not particularly fond of that look in general, once you hit the point of looking like you're on roids, fuck that. And, ignoring the subjective nature of it, I still think it comes down to overall build. If you're that huge, the more human you look, the better, whereas if you're a skinny guy like me, looking cut where you can helps a lot.
So in a way, I agree, but only where that sort of build is concerned. In more typical builds, the ab definition is great to show off.

Congrats on the progress Malinor :D
Osmoses, nice job on the cut. From here imo i wouldnt worry too much about gaining/losing weight but go for better body recomposition. I'd stop crippling your lifts with under eating and go around maintenance and start pumping some strength gains IMO
Todays workout- FS 275 295 305 335 355 365 375 FAIL AHHHHH SO CLOSE TO NEW PR was at the sticking point for like 3 seconds then backed off and did 3x265 275 285 295 Hang Snatch - worked up to 215 then dropped to 135 and worked up to 245 (15 pound PR), missed 250 Snatch pulls - 3x2 @ 305, 1x315 Was on my last set of doubles and tired as fuck then a smoking hot girl starts doing pull ups in spandex in front of me and i smashed the last rep :D Insta testosterone ftw

You are wrong. It's ALL about the abs.

Today I was lazy. I hate missing gym days =(
Sunday the gym is closed entirely. Mon - Wed it is only open until 7. Thursday and Friday it is open until 10, and Saturdays it closes for a few hours from 4-7 but reopens at 7 and stays open until 10.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week I haven't gotten out of work until 5:30 or later - and so by the time I get home, cook food and eat it, the gym is only open for a half hour, when it's a ten minute walk away. Phyre is sad, but a fasted workout for me is worse than a missed workout. Dropping the bookstore job though, going to lifeguard full-time. That will leave me with tuesdays off, so I can lift then, and lifeguarding days end at 7:30 (outdoor pool) so I'll be able to lift thursday and saturday as well. That's also 6 days a week of swim workouts for cardio, and every morning until 11 is free (swim lessons, and they don't require lifeguards, just water safety instructors) so I'll be able to eat, and run my sprints then. I'll also be able to eat during breaks if I bring food to lifeguarding, so that's a plus. Still on track to hit 200 pounds this summer, although I don't know how, with the way I've been eating (mostly 1 meal and a cup of greek yogurt or handful of almonds a day).
I should also have spare money coming in... I'll be working 45 hours/week, and it only takes ~15 to cover my groceries, which are my main expense at this point in my life. Among other things, I'm looking to get a pair of Oly shoes (because I know at least two guys who can help me learn to c&j/snatch properly come september) and a belt (for max-out deadlifts and squats). I know the belt should be wide all the way around (or as much as possible). Does anyone have any suggestions? Any sites to check for Oly shoes (that ship in the US?) Sizing suggestions? I wear a 13 in normal street shoes, and a 12 in Rugby cleats... the street shoes are a touch big, the cleats a touch small. I have a very narrow foot for someone my size.

Can't go wrong with adidas! wlshoes.com for all the info you need.

Pressed 60kgx2x5, first time I lifted so much weight. Cant wait to max in 3-4 weeks and go for a bodyweight press then. Hopefully I'm 80kg by then and built some huge shoulder/trceps that can boost my bench when I get in the groove again.
Edit: Blonde is that you? I have a mancrush -_-

Must be him. That's the same garage as his deadlift videos, and it looks to be about the same height/weight. Plus who else could be that much of a baller besides a TLHF poster?

Is a 1 missing? I'm confused.

Abs are overrated. A ripped back can seriously intimidate someone.

Edit: Blonde is that you? I have a mancrush -_- If you manage to improve your press by 33% in 4 weeks, I'm going to fly to Chile and get lessons from you personally. I'm overjoyed if I can improve my press by 5kg per month at the moment, and my 1RM is maybe 7.5kg above my 5RM. That said, your press is waaay below your other lifts, so perhaps it's possible for you. I'm pressing roughly the same as you (60kg 1x5) but my other lifts are each like 30% below yours.

@BlondeonBlonde
I'm going to start doing kroc rows and I think i saw them in your training logs, did you make your dumbbell yourself or did you buy it somewhere? My dumbbells are way too small so I guess I either have to make one or use a barbell. Might be hard to balance a barbell though, going to try later today.

Thanks for the feedback guise, gonna stop cutting and go on a lg-recomp from now on. Next progress pic in 4 months or so :p

I purchased a 24 inch long, 1” diameter of cold rolled steel. Try to find an industrial / construction metal shop. It should cost around 10$. Use disks for adjustable DBs and collars, but add plumbing collars to protect your hand and also to keep the weights from falling. I use hockey tape for the grip.
Yes, it's me in the picture.

Cool, I'll see if I can make myself one then, thanks

Finally a lift in which I win.
I'm Pressing 75kg x 3 x 5
also, didn't go to the gym yesterday, went to a service dedicated to my Grandpa (miss him lots), and well, I got out late and couldn´t make it to the gym.
No worries tho, today and tomorrow is all In, I don't give a fuck.
Funkie style on bitches.
@blonde, do you do Paleo? or leangains or what? ;o. It's amazing how ripped you are.
|
@Funkie, 75kgx3x5 OHP? When the hell did that happen?
@Froadac, you'll be recovered and back in the gym in no time. Good luck with your rehabilitation and all.
Anyway, May 12th I was 90kg. June 12th I was 93kg. A bit too rapid on the weight gain front? Should I lower my calories a bit?
