I think when I started working out I would've been 'ewww', but now I'm drooling. That guy is JACKED. I'm aiming to be a little bit smaller, but I'm still very jealous haha.

He confirmed what I'd been thinking but didn't want to admit. That is, my top priority at the moment should be increasing flexibility/mobility to get to a point where I can do the lifts with the proper form and until I can do that there's no point trying to increase my lift weights. He did show me lots of exercise I can do in the meantime and even gave me a barbell to practise overhead squats with at home! Even though it's no way near as expensive or 'nice' I love the feel of a proper weightlifting area (lifting pads/chalk) compared to the anytime fitness I usually go to. I'm very curious what exercises he gave you. Any chance you could make a write-up? Very interested in what kind of mobility homework he gave you ![]() Also, what are your current lifts?

Gonna have to get a PT, definitely doing something wrong. Looking forward to deadlift monday though ![]() General cues for squat: + Show Spoiler + 1. Your feet are shoulder width apart and slightly toed out. 2. Head up, looking slightly above parallel. 3. Don’t look down! Ground is in peripheral vision only! 4. Accentuate the normal arch of the lumbar curve while pulling the excess arch out of the abs. 5. Keep midsection very tight. 6. Send your butt and your back down. 7. Knees track over the line of the foot. 8. Don’t let knees roll over inside of foot. 9. Keep your weight on your heels as much as possible. 10. STAY OFF THE BALLS OF THE FEET! 11. Delay forward travel of the knees as much as possible. 12. Lift your arms up and out as you descend. 13. Elongated torso. 14. Send hands as far away from butt as possible. 15. In profile, the ear does not move forward during the squat, only straight down. 16. Don’t just sink into the squat, pull yourself down with your hip flexors. 17. Don’t let the lumbar curve surrender as you settle into the bottom. 18. Stop when the fold of the hip is below the crease of the knee. Break parallel with your thighs. 19. Squeeeeeeeze glutes and hammies, rise without any leaning forward or shifting of balance. 20. Return on the exact same path as you descended. 21. Use every bit of musculature you can, no part of the body is left uninvolved. 22. On rising, without moving the feet, exert pressure to the outside of your feet as though you were trying to separate the ground beneath you. 23. At the top of the stroke, stand as tall as possible. Practice these at home and wherever you go

For most people looking down causes a loose thoradic spine, this is also the reason why most people look straight ahead. atleast thats how I understood it

Carrying a well built body and good looks gives a great base level for self-confidence.

Still, I think telling a drunk girl "if you are nice you can touch my abs" prolly doesn't hurt (fuck my friend, he used to be skinny and now he is fucking ripped thanks to me) Anyways: Squat: 120kgx5x7 BP: 60kgx5, 70kgx2, 80x1, 90x1, 100x1, 110x1 Squat isn't getting hard at the gym, but i'm struggling to mantain my weight eating clean (meat, veggies, fruit, cheese) which is really new to me. (YA I LOVE EATING SO ITS AWESOME, MOM IS NOT HAPPY THOUGH). Squatting again tomorrow prolly gonna be tough. Benching again 110 was great, hopefully I can get to 120 again next week, but i'll settle with 115 given my shoulder doesn't hurt anymore. Following week I can start my bp program again :D.
