^^^ precisely. It's a co-ed gym, and its part of a larger club. They're very serious about this.

So I've been experiencing light-headedness and headaches about every day, and my dad thinks it's anemia (I don't know though, I eat plenty of meat/protein, and I think I get enough iron). Anyway, he's giving me some vitamins to take. But I looked at the expiration date, freaking 2007.

Safe to take? If so, will they do any good?

Why take a pill that expired 4 years ago? Expiration means that the company says "after this date I can't guarantee that the product will work as intended". Just buy some new pills man.

^ Should be fine. My doctor told me that an expired drug is usually not as potent. He simply told me to take more pills for that reason. I honestly don't remember which prescription drug it was, but I'm fairly certain it's the same way for vitamins.

Anyway, what's a good weight and lifts for someone who's 5'7"? Just recently I started to cut, but it's starting to hinder my lifts so i decided to eat more. atm I'm 145lb. 3x5 245 squats/3x5 185 bench/3x5 115 press/1x5 250 deadifts

depends on your goal, aesthetics or strength. Top powerlifters of your height compete in 74kg class, soy they walk around 77kg; high weight/short height gives them best leverages for lifting. For looking better 155-165 is a good range, depends on you.

Example:

You are decently strong for your size, in my opinion don't think you should consider cutting until u hit 160 or smth.

If you want to do it, do it after your strength training

Let your rest days be rest days until you have a better S&C base

thanks for the advice. I don't really have a particular goal atm. Right now I'm just enjoying seeing my strength increase every now and then. And squatting more than the bigger guys in the gym is also encouraging hehe (honestly, I kind of like the fact that the average person hasn't heard of starting strength or other strength training regimes lol). Aside from strength, I also looking for aesthetics like bodybuilders.

How should I incorporate my workouts to have the strength of a powerlifter and the body of a bodybuilder? I'm not too worried about excelling in either one, although I'd like to be above average in both. I've been doing SS for about a year. What should I do?

Oh and my other goal is to get to 160lb now that you recommended it

How have you been doing SS for a year?

Novice gains typically peter out at 3-6 months... maybe 8 months for those genetically gifted.

Train strength and eat more to get big. Once you hit near advanced level you can go to a split rather than full body routine

I probably should have mentioned that I've been on and off for a few times. But I think it was mainly due to not eating enough and the lack of confidence. I didn't increment my lifts every time I went cuz I was new and scared back then lol. What's an ideal weight for squats/bench/press/deadlift at 3-6 months of doing SS consistently and following it properly? just want to be motivated by these numbers

any tips on those deadlifts? the only thing that's keeping me back is my weak grip, even with the alternate grip i'm having quite a hard time.

I did really high rack pulls when I hurt myself and couldn't squat/dl. I used a free squat rack and put the saftey bars just above my knees. I like to think it helped.

Farmers walks with DBs

Also, do double overhead as much as you can then only switch to mixed at heavier weights. Thsi should help bring up grip strength

Also, you can so other specific grip work as well such as wrist curls if you really need to

Anyone have any tips on knots in your back? I get them quite often on the left side of my back in the area where the rhomboid(sp?)meets the lat

^ Yoga.

So I've been lifting and like halfway paleo-ing, I'll eat healthy at home but eat junk when im out and its free. I'm 5'11, like 170-175ish, and I'm seeing fat leave my arms, my legs, and the belly is last. To get a 6 pack to I have to be super strict diet-wise? What weight do you guesstimate I aim for? (have no body fat % measurements)

If I can rationalize that I'll hit my goal in x weeks, its so much easier for me to do. So like 155 = 6pack, thats just 1-2 pounds week for like 2-3 months

DL might be lower, bench might be a bit higher, and squat around the same.

But yes.. prolly 5rm

Massage, use a wall, foam roller, lacrosse/tennis ball/etc.

Work on your posture too

Can't say anything without measurements...

Some people can have a "six pack" with crap diet.

Depends entirely on your body composition. I am the same size as you and I'm probably 5-10 lbs from a 6pack, but I was also 5'11" 150 with no abs.

For reference, this is me
