Actually, I'm mostly partial to gymnasts since that's my background. Lots of good reasons there.

Age: 17 Height: 5' 11" Weight: 178 Starting date: 1/4/2011 Weight goals: 163 Training goals: Not being lazy, basically. Sports activity: Basketball whenever possible. It's my passion, couldn't play on the team this year because I need to focus on grades for a full-ride. It's tearing me apart. Misc goals: Less computer, less procrastination, less stress. I've had eating disorders for about a year or more. Caused me to go from 175ish to 150 and later clear up to 190. Lost a lot of muscle first round. Gained a lot of fat the next. Summer sucked for me, I was depressed and hated life. I don't want to go into confessional mode, but my goals are to continue retaking my eating habits and get back to where I'm dead sexy- the hallowed 163. Some weight lifting when I get time to get even sexier. The feel good sweat running down my face again. Time to shake off the lazy bugs. ![]()

![]() -- http://www.freshlyvegetarian.com/2010/01/articles/health/peanuts-arent-nuts-but-are-paleo-dieters-better-off-cutting-peanuts-out/ When peanuts grow, they can harbor carcinogenic mold called an “aflatoxin“. This goes for conventional and organic peanuts. They longer they sit (during shipping, for example), especially in warm temperatures and high humidity, the more mold grows. And as it’s nearly impossible to buy peanuts “local”, as they are only grown in a few Southern locations, more likely than not that even your organic peanuts are suspect. The far bigger concern, however, is that peanuts contain lectins which are believed to have inflammatory and atherogenic potential. Most plants contain lectins, some of which are toxic, inflammatory, or both. Many of these lectins are resistant to cooking and to digestive enzymes, and some have been scientifically shown to have significant GI toxicity in humans. Lectins from grains (especially wheat) and legumes (including peanuts and soybeans) are most commonly associated with aggravation of inflammatory and digestive diseases in the body. (As an aside, dairy from cows fed grain-based diets can also contain these grain-derived lectins.) So how serious is this?

Downloaded "myfitnesspal" for my android to help me keep track of calories. I know I don't eat enough to be gaining weight, but just having this app for two days showed me that WOW I AM BEHIND, on the average order of 700 - 1000 calories per day (for my goal weight of 190). Going to have to be a part of the next shopping trip while I'm here at home, since most of the food in the house is not exactly healthy, and certainly going to have to focus on eating MORE when I get back to school.

I'd sure love to find a group of us and create a Nike+ group to compare and log some good kilometres with this summer. Maybe even starting our own running fitness thread if there's enough out there. Updates will come more frequent when spring starts! For now, it's gym, sports, and staying fit. PM me, and we'll keep in touch!

Press: 54kg x 5 Front Squat: 80kg x 5 Dead: 120kg x 5 Everything here was pretty easy, and I know I'll work back up quickly again (to 70kg press, 100kg front squat, 150kg deadlift). The next time I naturally stall (as in, not due to an illness), I'll move on to Madcow's 5x5. Here's hoping I don't get sick again.
