Will start out with squat, press and power clean. I don't know why, but I'm really looking forward to do some power cleaning instead of deadlifting :o

Calamari Steak Piccata Ingredients: Calamari Steak Flour Butter Capers Lemon White Wine Seasoning (e.g. salt+pepper) Directions: Create a seasoned flour mixture. I used a mix of salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Coat steaks with flour. Heat pan to medium high, add butter. Once butter is melted, add steak to the pan. Cook until browned on the bottom (1 min?). Flip over and repeat. Add capers, lemon juice, and white wine to the pan. Reduce. Add a little more butter to finish the sauce. For those who want to be strictly paleo, you can omit the flour, but it helps to give the steak a nice crust and good color. How do you keep the batter from falling off of the calamari? Or does it just stick on by default?

Height: 181.5 cm (6') Weight: 60~kg BF%: The scales say 5% but I'm not sure I believe them... My 1RM's from the start of January: OHP: 35kg (my worst lift, I'm soooooooo terrible at it) BP: 50kg SQ: 80kg (was 85kg at the start of december but I kinda took a month off for no reason...) DL: 95kg (I got sooooo damn close to locking out 100kg but I just couldn't get there. I have no doubt if I tried for it again I would get it) Power Clean: 50kg I've always been a really skinny guy, my metabolism is out of control. I was 55~kg when I started working out about 3/4 of the way through last year (started with 5/3/1 because that's what my housemate was doing, doing stronglifts 5x5 since october or so) and have been having a really hard time putting on weight. Recently I've been gaining a bit thanks to a large increase in meals and diet (I used to eat a LOT and but still couldn't put weight on, I find it so hard to choke down the extra food I need to gain weight) Hopefully I can get myself some maltodextrin to go with my protein to help with getting enough calories. Since I took december off because of lack of time and general lack of motivation, I restarted the SL 5x5 program starting with 60% of my 1rms for each exercise, and I'm squatting heavier weights than I ever have before. I was wondering why my squats were so goddamn hard to get through when I realised 3 or so workouts into the program I've surpassed where I was when I stopped working out. I squatted 70kg 5x5 yesterday and despite the worst DOMS I've ever had in my glutes I feel so ecstatic that I made it. Squats are as much a battle with your mind as they are with your body, on the 5th rep of each set I was sure I would fail, I felt like I was stuck on the way up but I kept pushing and made it up. More proud of myself than I ever have been. Lifting weights is so rewarding, wish I'd started doing it so much earlier.

edit: I totally feel you on the squat fight since I've reached 90kg on my squat (doing SS) I have to bust a nut every time to finish that 3x5, but when you get through it and actually pack more weight on the iron next time, the feeling is just AWESOME!

Why would I take nutritional advice from a guy who looks like that? Because he turns skinny kids into frothing beasts.

Also worked on bench press form. That should improve quickly and I can get back to adding weight. Still working on the nutrition part, finished up my skim milk and bought some whole milk. NEED MOAR CALORIES!

I hope to put on 15 pounds to make it to 140 within the next two months, with an eventual build up to 155 pounds by the end of the year. Training goals -- Current stats, estimated one rep max BENCH: 155 lbs SQUAT: 155 lbs DEADLIFT: 195 lbs Goals, by end of March BENCH: 175 LBS SQUAT: 185 LBS DEADLIFT: 225 LBS Goals, by end of the year BENCH: 205 LBS SQUAT: 225 LBS DEADLIFT: 275 LBS Nutrition goals -- Just want to make sure I'm constantly eating all day and keeping up with my meals. As a hardgainer I find that I always need to be eating because my metabolism just shoots through the roof. I usually aim for about 3000 calories a day. Misc goals -- To not be the lightweight at the gym I frequent! But even if I am look-wise, that won't be the case strength-wise if I start hitting all my goals. Good luck to all!

I eat 3000kcal in one meal. the easiest way to pack in extra calories is whole milk. drink a few liters a day and i guarentee you your weight will shoot up. ideally, you should find the calorie intake that gives you a weight gain of half a pound to a pound a week. that way you can be more sure that your weight gain is muscle and not fat.

Since I started putting on weight I've felt myself putting on fat, and for someone who's been a skinny turd all his life it's very weird, I DUN WANNA GET FAT ((((If you have a smartphone, download "myfitnesspal" - It's an app that has the caloric amounts of most foods programmed in, so you just search for a food, enter your serving size, and voila. Calories counted. It'll even calculate (roughly) based on activity level, height and weight, how many calories a day you need to gain, lose, or stay the same. Calling yourself a "hardgainer" is an excuse. All through growing up I told myself I just had a fast metabolism - the truth was, I wasn't eating. Started getting 3 -> 4 solid meals a day and then drinking whole milk on top of that; gaining weight is ezpz when you're doing it right. Failed my squats today on the last rep - 5/5/4 @ 205. Decided I wanted to be more awesome and went at least an inch below parallel on every one, just got stuck on the last one. I was SO CLOSE to putting it back up. =(. Still, feels good to know that I put 205 on that bar. Not too many guys here can say that. Not many guys here squat, but that's not the point =p. Also got my workout buddy to hit a full plate today, that was awesome. He started almost exactly a month ago barely able to squat the bar. He didn't say much about it, but when I brought it up you could tell he was pumped. Proud of that guy. Think I'll just do 205 and try for 5x5 next time I hit the gym.
