Going to do some research on mountain bike trails and start heading out from next week. Something about just going to the gym for exercise that no longer excites me.
I've also sussed out some indoor rock climbing centres that I want to check out.

I mean hell, without you here, we'd never have had this thread. Without that first thread you threw out here in '09, I'd never have gotten into lifting (I still only lurked for another year and a half but whatever).

Great work and progress on your running man, I remember when you started, you were walking. Now a 10km run!
I'm doing the Perth city to Surf in August. it's a 12km run, although I'm doing it purely for the exercise, not a strong enough runner to make it competitive. My goal is <60min though. I'm going to start training for it from next week as part of my increased cardio.

Stay motivated everyone, you will get the results.

Current Weight: 162lb Goal Weight - 150lb Starting Date: January 5th Goal Date: February 20th
Current Weight (February 15th): 154lb
45 days to try and lose 12lb. Which would have been realistic when I was 60-70lb overweight but I don't have much to lose now.
Still 40 days into my goal and I am down to 154lb. Which is -8lb, I'm sure if I went hardcore I could lose another 2lb in the next 5 days, but there is no rush. With the amount of weight training I have been doing, my shoulders and arms have gotten a lot larger and more defined, core and back are a lot stronger and my fitness levels have gone through the roof.
I am now in the final stages of my ultimate goal of a six-pack which is still realistically 2-4 months away I'd say. I am riding anywhere between 30-50km (20-30miles) a day depending on time constraints. Have cut down the gym to 3 times a week but all 3 sessions are personal training sessions.
I am no longer on so much of a "diet". But my natural eating has become very healthy and it is something I don't even think about anymore it just comes naturally. I now eat enough food to put a horse to shame, but it is all balanced and healthy and in the right portions, and still, I am losing body fat and gaining muscle with my intake.
I know this is probably a bit vein, but riding my bike to work now I occasionally jump on the train if I am running late. I wear track suit shorts and a tank top while cycling. I am getting some pretty defined arms and shoulders and I have a backpack with clips on the front that extenuates my chest. Basically every time I get on, there will be at least 2-3 girls staring at me when they think I don't see them. (Just something I am not use to)
Bockit, that is a very realistic goal and I am sure you will have no problems achieving it. I've also noticed ever since I started getting fit and healthy and put on muscle mass, binges don't even dent my progress, its almost as if my body knows it is only temporary and regardless of how much alcohol or junk food I consume, my body just writes it off and gets right back on track a couple of days later.
I am really proud of everyone in this thread who put an effort into achieving their goal or even just a small change in lifestyle, as long as it has been something you kept up with or plan on following through.
You've been fucking awesome for three years of threads, and (I checked your blog) even before that man. Keep it up, keep being awesome.
Hi mate,
I really appreciate this post. I didn't realise people were actually following my posts and thank you for reminding me of those. I had almost forgotten that I have already done this before.
I'm definitely getting back on track, I have a very obsessive personality and I tend to concentrate 100% effort on whatever I am after, unfortunately the last 6-8 months has been girls, drugs and alcohol.
Back in France now, will start gathering pics. Read up on the whole thread again, you girls talk a lot. SS should arrive any day now, and so should mah shoes! I figure I'll start training for strength btw, not mass. You get big anyhow, right?

What shoes did you end up ordering? I want to order the adidas :o. Read tons of good stuff about them online

3x5 62kg press 2x5 80kg front squat 1x5 90kg front squat 3x5 60kg deadlift
I had a pain in my abductors and didn't wanted to fuck myself up more by doing heavy DL. Monday will be another day :D
Adidas power perfect II, regular EU shoesize +1 was basically what I aimed for.
Small question regarding whey protein and creatine use; Should I take a morning protein shake and a post workout shake? Can I make a shake, cool it ( to about 5 degrees) and then take it after 3 hours? Or do I really have to go make, shake and gulp it down?
I missed you guys by the way. Hate not having internet : / Also, hi to all of the new people!

Creatine just take every morning, or every night. I do mine right when I pop my vitamin D and fish oil pills. There's no immediate benefit to taking it, because it needs time to build up in your system.
As for the whey protein shake post-workout, leangains and other sites I've been reading have a bit to say about that... Turns out, it's really not the most important thing in the world. What IS important, is that you already have protein (whether that's from BCAA's 10 minutes before lifting, or a whey shake 45 minutes before lifting) in your system when you begin. Making the shake and cooling it shouldn't be a problem at all, as long as your particular protein doesn't cement down to the bottle over that three hours.
As long as you have protein in your system when you start lifting, and you get enough protein throughout the rest of the day, the timing isn't the most important thing in the world, so do what you want with it.
Yams v Sweet Potatoes; what's the difference anyway? I always thought they were the same thing LoL.
So wound up going to the city yesterday. Despite the fact that I was cooked a vegan dinner I had a super awesome time. I made sure to eat a huge steak and drink half a gallon of milk before I went so the dinner was fine. But hell, I was cooked for. I'll eat anything that someone cooks for me. Especially if that someone is two hot chicks.
So I just went to the gym and did 4 sets each of: Bench press 115 lb Incline press? (bench press on like 45 degree angle) 85 lb Leg press 340 lb
Just trying to figure out how much I can lift so my leg press went from 250 lb on the first set to 340 on the 4th lol My upper body is weak as shit tho T_T
I didn't want to do squats because I didn't know the proper form I'm gonna read up SS now and figure out what to do so I'm ready next time :D

Could go and take a nice lifting session, drop by the pools and grill some...oh well. Distance sucks.
That sounds so nice, the weather here's so sporadic. One minute it's blazing hot out with maximum sunshine, the next it's windstorms and the sky's completely covered in rainclouds. Too bad I live near the west side of Canada. That would've made for a nice early bday gift ='[
Squat: 176kg x 5 Press: 75kg x 5 Power Clean: 77,5kg: 3-3-3-3-3 DB Biceps Curl: 12,5kg 10-8-6
Squat-form sucked for most of the reps, I need to warm up more effectively for this 1x5 stuff, so that I "find" my right stance before my work-set. 5x3 Power Clean is so damn taxing, it's just hard. But learned something about the jump today, so that was good. I am in the mood for a little bit of biceps lately, will probably keep using DBs, using barbells for everything is just a little bit boring.
I definitely overtaxed my shoulders during the last two weeks, so the next two days I am not gonna lift anything remotely heavy over my head and get them some rest.
