I switched chease with malinor. What do you mean? Why not just own everyone?

also so it's known, im going to change the order in which I submit that roster. otherwise the other team could read it and pick their team accordingly.

This is just a for fun tournament. While I would like to win, it's also fun for people to get to play.
If most people agree that I should just submit the best possible lineup both rounds I will do that, but otherwise I think people might have more fun if I tried to play a couple extra people.
It's up to you guys though so post your opinion on that.

Two things; After a week or more of not doing shit for lifting I finally got in a full workout today. Fuck yeah! And I got a camera!! Filmed a few of my work sets.
So here's some form checks I guess.
Squat 205lbs 3rd set x5 + Show Spoiler + My personal critique. + Show Spoiler +So I've been trying to figure out why I start to get headaches when I lift. I have a good idea of several contributing factors; the recent weather, poorly ventilated garage, and I was moving too fast in between work sets. All these caused me to add strain when I was breathing. Anyway most of these have been fixed. And in this squat I was working on different ways of breathing. This caused me to have rather inconsistent form. I'd honestly consider this set pretty fucking sloppy compared to what I had been doing previously. But hey, gotta post yourself at your worst right?
I found that I often leaned forward coming out of the hole. This is a relatively new breakdown in my form and I attribute it to fooling around with breathing and head position. I'll get it though. Also could probably lock my hips out a little more at the end. I don't even know why I didn't. I've been concentrating on other aspects of my squat and it pretty much just slipping my mind tbh.
Either way I feel like I was pushing this weight fairly easily. I've just been frustrated by headaches and shit.
vid 1 - Press 100lbs 1st set x5 vid 2 - Press 95lbs 3rd set x5 + Show Spoiler +http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kpmd9qOIF5Q Thoughts + Show Spoiler +I suck at press. This is the second week I've failed at 100lbs. It was probably a little ambitious to resume at 100 since I hadn't pressed in more than a week and even then it was a failure. So after the first set I scaled the weight back down to 95lbs. Either way I know I'm not doing it as efficiently as possible. And it's obviously heavy for me by the last rep.
My one question is on a rep like the 5th one of my 100lb set here; how do you salvage that? I was able to press it up but it felt like I was leaning back for waaay too long. How can you still snap your body back under the bar to get superior leverage?
vid 1 - Powerclean 110lbs 1st set x3 vid 2 - Powerclean 110lbs 4th set x3 vid 3 - Powerclean 110lbs 5th set x4 + Show Spoiler +http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HiZpSDOEoaE Thoughts + Show Spoiler +I posted my first set as well as my last two to give some sort of comparison of the breakdown of form due to fatigue and lack of concentration. This was actually the first time I felt like the weight was getting heavy enough that I couldn't just throw it sloppily as hell and somehow still end up in a decent rack. It was the first time I had to focus on what I was doing throughout the entirety of the powerclean movement.
That being said, I've gotten a lot better at powercleans since my first few attempts but they are still terribly inconsistent. I notice that I often end up jumping slightly backward as I pull it to rack position. As a result the bar sometimes looks like it pulls violently into my chest instead of being a smoother motion. Also every once in a while I just throw the bar outward too far away from my belly and it does the same thing where it comes crashing into my chest during the rack.
There's tons of other stuff I know, but those were the glaringly obvious ones to me.
Yes, my chalk is green. When cleaning my garage I found a big bucket of sidewalk chalk for kids that I now use when lifting. Last week was blue :D Before anyone wonders why I tucked in my shirt; because it was so damned baggy that when I started doing powercleans and tried to pull the bar up close to my body it would get tangled in my shirt and screw me up completely. Also look at my 4th set of powercleans for a great example of my focus being thrown totally off once my brother comes in and starts dropping shit all over the place.

It's also fun to have bragging rights. I say we should try to play everyone who's signed up (since you're all apparently mid-masters anyway) but obviously not be playing someone who's going to seriously compromise our chances- someone like me, who is mid plat, for example.

No, not everyone is mid masters. Only the people I had on the original roster are masters or higher, all the other players are diamond or plat. I don't think I will be able to play everyone and us still have a chance of winning.

Might be fine to add another high diamond player, but I'd rather like to remain competitive. Otherwise, it was maybe a waste to have pestered Ret about signing up. That's just me though, we should get opinions from a few others, especially those who gave you their names.

I'd be willing to not play for the sake of winning >.>

good job bro, you've caught up with me in bench! now i just need to catch up to your squats!
Also, I went out for a jog today instead of lifting because it was gorgeous out, and it made me realize how little endurance I have
I think I'm going to do some light jogging on my off days, this way I have all three components of training covered:
Strength: SS Endurance: jogging Flexibility: yoga
Win??

I need to start doing some yoga again. I love it. Also I've been so lax on working out this past week that my flexibility has suffered a little.

hey travis I recommend keeping me as your last resort for the lineup. I switched races to zerg a while back and I'm still sucking it up big time.

so... many... hot... girls.
That aside, I think yoga actually complements lifting quite nicely, if I do yoga ~3hrs before lifting, I feel much much more flexible and confident when I lift.

So y'all would recommend yoga? I've been thinking about doing it recently

I found a place near me that is a pretty big yoga studio with a ton of classes. I might have to check it out soon. Since I usually just work out from home I've only ever done yoga in the privacy of my home as well LoL. But yeah, I'm totally looking forward to the girls :D
Ashtanga yoga is great for hip and hammy flexibility. And everything really.

I'd also recommend it. I used to do it a few times a week and then cut back to only once a week while doing a lot of running, hockey, and bw stuff. But at any rate it kept me pretty limber, especially in the lower body with all the running and hockey I was doing. I'd like to start doing it again at least once a week for an hour or two.
I don't want to oversell it, but I would tell anyone who is interested to just find a class and join it for the day or a few times. Often what I've seen from curious friends who would join me for sessions is that people are less flexible than they think they are; or are strong, flexible, or otherwise in decent shape but for whatever reason are not able to hold the isometric poses required for an extended period.
Not that yoga is the end-all-be-all of flexibility and stuff, but so far as I have seen it is the most comprehensive way for me at least to keep flexible and is also a pretty darn good workout in it's own right.
