It feels weak to you because you aren't Johnny.
It turns out that not everyone who plays a given game is the same, and what people try to get out of the game varies quite a lot. There are people who don't care about rank but just want to put together decks with a cool combo or that follow a theme. It doesn't matter that it doesn't work most of the time, what matters is that when it does work it's awesome (SEE: Holy Wrath Paladin).
The only negative Deathrattle synergy card in TGT is Darnassus Aspirant (you don't want to trigger it twice), the rest are positive. If you're talking about new Undertaker/Baron Rivendare type cards then that's something else entirely, and arguably unnecessary.

Except it's not really a Johnny card either, because it doesn't interact with other Rogue cards in interesting ways that better Weapons didn't already. It has *synergy* with other Inspire cards, but doesn't directly interact with them. So there's nothing that feels clever or innovative about Poisoned Blade in a Rogue Inspire deck because it's not interacting with any of the other cards in interesting ways--it just happens to also trigger off of you using your hero power. Rivendare is a Johnny card. This is just bad.
This is a fair point, but I'm somewhere on the Johnny spectrum and I like the card even though it's not that great.

Your argument seems to boil down to that there are people out there that like playing bad cards so making new bad cards for the game is perfectly fine. It seems a bit silly to me but ok let's just roll with that for now. What about the people that like playing good cards? Is it just tough luck to those guys while they fill expansions with blatantly bad cards?
Why would more deathrattle synergy cards be unnecessary? There seems to be a lot of quirky room to work with previous tribal/theme stuff that would fit right into the "johnny" thing as well.
edit: This expansion has me a bit more pissed off because it feels like the majority of the interesting cards are all higher rarity which means all this filler crap is even more offensive.

I mean, I agree that Poisoned Blade is a pretty shit card. But there are always going to be good and bad cards in a set. Sometimes they're bad for flavor/fun, sometimes they're bad because of meta, sometimes because of poor design, and sometimes cuz they're just straight bad.
But all in all, I'm really happy with this set. I think there are a lot of very cool and fun cards that have made the game far more interesting. This could just be an illusion of people wanting to play the new stuff, and maybe the meta will settle and we'll see the same old shit we always have.
But I'm not a rapper rogue player.

There has to be comparatively "bad" cards because if every card is better then there's power creep and stuff. You've got some niche or tribal cards which aren't necessarily good when the expansion comes out but have the potential to grow with later ones. Having "basic/vanilla" cards in each expansion is also not that bad, because if everything is situational or has to build upon cards from the previous sets, new players are left forced to open various types of packs and all over the place (as in I wouldn't mind every expansion having a 3/2 for 2 with a minor effect/tribe, or a 4/3 or 3/4 for 3, etc. just so newcomers can buy the most recent expansion over classic + whatever expansion they're interested in).
Plus all the cards people misjudge, they may look bad, but you never know. Straight-up bad cards like the ice rager on the other hand... yeah. But there aren't 20 of them in the expansion. That Rogue gets shit cards is different from the expansion purposefully being filled with shit though.

There are plenty of good cards this expansion. Really cool effects do tend to rest on Legendaries, but there are plenty of critical/interesting commons and rares. Mukla's Champion and Silverhand Regent are huge token cards and are common.
New Deathrattle synergy cards are unnecessary because that effect is already well supported. There's certainly room to explore that mechanic further, but it's not a pressing issue. Dragons, on the other hand, sucked before the new TGT cards were added. I'm not upset that we got new mechanics/tribes this expansion over revisiting an already supported mechanic when we're only on the third expansion.

Frost Giant might be one of my favorite cards from this whole set. More 8/8s please!

Obviously wizards reprints cards and has functional reprints of older cards as well...what does blizz do when they run out of vanilla numbers?

It's known here as the "long dodge". Setting up a situation way in advance that forces you to dodge which you can claim is out of your control. Effective but very hard to pull off properly. Bravo sir.

Maybe you shouldn't go to a bar when you're underage. That said I'll fly up for your 21st. I want to see you dance for me while drunk.

All this talk about poisoned blade and I'm like, it seems okay to me. Niche but usable. At least talk about cards that offer no value like Ice Rager or tournament attendee and medic.
