It trades about as well as Harvest Golem, with the benefit that you end up with a 2/2 rather than a pingable 2/1 after you attack with it. Moreover silence doesn't matter if you're going for Savage Roar/Bloodlust.
Not saying it's an amazing card, but it's not bad.

So this week I found out that in the other company that merged with my company, roughly 7 people and a manager handled the area that I do by myself that I was trained for a few weeks before the person I'm covering left on leave. Lol. Dang, that sounds pretty rough Mordek. Is that other person at least coming back? *Like is the leave a vacation, etc?* Maternity leave. I found out yesterday they'll be moving me back to what I was doing previously once things get integrated. My days are just full of urgent matters, many of which I'm not sure what steps are appropriate and I don't know who to contact to get working on the problems. I'm juggling like 15 balls, 30 are on the floor and I just keep saying "I'm helping". Pretty rad

Atleast you're saying I'm Helping.

The legendaries were interesting at least. Low cost decent stuff. Everything else has been rather boring and underwhelming. The new mechanic feels uninspired.
Ok what the fuck. I have 2 Leechridden Swamp on field, 4 black lands. I'm using swamps each turn. Get it him down to 1 hp where he gets his bullshit flying bullshit X/X creature and now my swamps just don't work. Can you not kill people with them? This is such bullshit. Game before I'm beating his face in when he gets the stupid fking flying thing and I've run out of removals so it does 16/16 damage to me to kill me in one turn.

New card + Show Spoiler +
Feels like another shitty card. Worse ancient watcher that instead of silence you use your hero power to unlock?

It's Ancient Watcher that's useful for people not playing Handlock. I can see it being used in a controlly type Hunter deck. Drop this on 2 or 1 with coin, then use Hero Power to hit face while chipping away at little dudes with this guy. Or Control Warrior maybe as an early game card?
Also, pretty decent in Handlock anyway.

There's no room in current deck archetypes for a card like that, and even for an inspire-focused deck that card is crazy slow and underpowered.
|
Some of these cards become considerably more viable in a world where Piloted Shredder is nerfed, but I don't think that's one of them.

How is it particularly slow? If you're not playing aggro and slamming out full minions every turn, there's probably like a 50/50 that you'll use your hero power in early turns for some classes/decks. Higher for some, lower for others. If you are, then it's not a slow card, it's a 2/4 for 2, which is a pretty solid body against a lot of things.
|
Playing it turn 2 isn't slow, but you essentially need to Hero Power on turns 3 and 4 for it to be valuable. So in the ideal case you're spending 6 mana to get a 1 card advantage while sacrificing your turn 3 play and cutting back what you can do turn 4.
It might be okay as an enabler for Inspire mechanics, but on its own it's meh.
|
If the stats were a lot better it would make sense. 2/4 just dies to 3 drop + ping or 4 drop and it costs you 2 mana + 2 mana to use anyway. Don't get it.

Ancient Watchers' 4 attack lets them trade with things that are costed way higher than them.

The campus police force at a college near me has had one of their drug dogs dead because of that. Crazy.
Damn, 15$/hr lol. I don't even make that much, and I'm 23, tried so hard for this shitty job. Seriously. People don't understand how much it takes to cool a car. I drive a shitty little Focus hatchback. The AC in it is 4 times as powerful as the one in my window that cools my room. It takes 20 horsepower to run it. Turn an AC off in a room and it starts to heat up, but it will take 30 to maybe 60 minutes before it gets uncomfortable. In a car it take maybe 1 or 2. There's a reason putting people in a metal box in a hot day was a form of torture. All we did was give it a window and make the inside comfortable to sit in.

right speaker died in my steels series siberias today. they lasted just under 3 years

This requires hero power, which you'll always have, and which is used quite extensively by some decks/classes. You don't need an Owl to use it, or a Defender (or spell) to give it Taunt.

I'm not as disheartened about this set as some people seem to be, but as I said last week - unless this set gets some more ways to deal with aggro decks, Inspire is going to flop as a mechanic. I think it's really interesting and has a lot of potential, but it's slow just by virtue of its function.
Argent Watcher kind of exemplifies that.
