Like many games, I got it in my library and haven't touched it yet. I've heard great things though. Looking forward to messing with it. Also, I'm pretty sure we've talked about this before, but now release day is getting closer...

Run-based tactical kaiju vs. mech game from the makers of FTL. I'm pretty hyped. Unfortunately I never played Advance Wars so I can't give a good impression of whether or not it is similar. It doesn't seem exactly like Advance Wars. If you were looking for that... (though I've heard this game gets pretty rote and doesn't do its influence proud)

If my dog acted the way the average 10 lb dog at the park acts she'd have been put down years ago. Today at the park my dog went to greet a Shitzhu. My dog sniffs its face, thats fine, sniffs his butt, thats fine... Shitzhu goes nuts and tears a 1/4" x 1" strip out of my 70 lb Rotti/Shep's ear, my dog understandably gets pissed off, knocks the Shitzhu down, then heels and lays down how I told her to while I had to lift the Shitzhu off my dog, as it proceeds to bite me... Shitzhu totally fine, my dog bleeding profusely from its ear. For some reason my dog (who didn't start the fight, end the fight, or even cause an injury despite weighing over 6 times as much as the Shitzhu, and probably being 20 times as powerful) is apparently considred the aggressive one in the scenario by all the bystanders, too! Nice! The city's animal control, my vet, and the police (who Mrs Shitzhu owner called) want me to press charges on the owner and her dog, but I feel pretty ambivalent about it, because I know it likely means Shitzhu gets put down. But I think owner lady deserves a hefty fine and to learn to be a responsible pet owner. Just... ugh. That sucks dude. Our pup can be really mouthy (lots of barking at dogs and cars) but has never hurt another person or dog. But yes, in general I've found that smaller dogs are the worst behaved. I'm not sure why, could be lack of training or just some sort of inbuilt Napoleon Syndrome, but it's quite noticeable. Good to hear your dog is obedient, hope he heals ok! Small dog syndrome is pretty well documented. A large part of it is meant to come from the fact that aggression often comes from either a fear response, or from some past traumatic event. When you're a 10th the size of the dogs around you a lot more things seem scary, and if small dogs aren't very very socialised around larger dogs from a young age, they often don't feel comfortable/feel threatened when bigger dogs approach. Just takes one big dog to approach or knock a smaller one over in a way that ends agressively and suddenly the small dog might have some hairline trigger in similar situations. Also people don't tend to respect the boundaries of smaller dogs as much. Lots of handbag sized dogs just get picked up and carried around and whatever when they don't want to be, because it's a lot easier to ignore threatened behaviour in something the size of your shoe. If you keep overstepping a dogs boundaries and then telling it to stop when it gives signs of displeasure like growling, you get dogs which repress all the warning signs until it's too late and they snap. That plus generally less discipline because smaller dogs don't need to be as strictly obedient as large dogs and you have a recipe a lot of them turning into yappy ankle biters :p Trigger behaviour happens to all sizes of dogs too, our old Toller used to love playing with small white dogs, then one day she got out of the garden as this crazy old woman was walking past with her yipppy white dog, and her response to seeing a toller walking towards her was to hit it with the sharp point of her umbrella while shouting. After that our dog reacted really aggro to seeing any small white dog ![]()

Clearly a post by someone who has never had any experience with this. Both my grandparents had farm animals and you can definitely tell there is a lot of genetics involved.
