It is pretty crazy how fast these can appear and then disappear without any trace. One needs to take a photo.

Even if you live in a country with free healthcare, you shouldn't go to the doctor every time you stub your toe. There's also an onus on the people in the country to not abuse healthcare.. Especially if you do sports where you get a lot of minor injuries you sort of learn what needs doctors attention and what you just walk off. Things like bone bruising, sprains, and even something like a broken (non big) toe they really can't do anything about other than go "yep, that's bruised/sprained", and advise you to rest it as much as possible :p If it's not improving at all after a few days, or if its going really slow after a week or two then sure get it checked out for something more serious, but the system would fail if everyone rushed to the doctors every time they fell over and it hurt a bit :p

I wasn't watching before Gangnam style started playing, but I didn't here any kpop lyrics after that. However I can't find any news articles about nbc censoring anything either. Weird.

If my dog acted the way the average 10 lb dog at the park acts she'd have been put down years ago. Today at the park my dog went to greet a Shitzhu. My dog sniffs its face, thats fine, sniffs his butt, thats fine... Shitzhu goes nuts and tears a 1/4" x 1" strip out of my 70 lb Rotti/Shep's ear, my dog understandably gets pissed off, knocks the Shitzhu down, then heels and lays down how I told her to while I had to lift the Shitzhu off my dog, as it proceeds to bite me... Shitzhu totally fine, my dog bleeding profusely from its ear. For some reason my dog (who didn't start the fight, end the fight, or even cause an injury despite weighing over 6 times as much as the Shitzhu, and probably being 20 times as powerful) is apparently considred the aggressive one in the scenario by all the bystanders, too! Nice! The city's animal control, my vet, and the police (who Mrs Shitzhu owner called) want me to press charges on the owner and her dog, but I feel pretty ambivalent about it, because I know it likely means Shitzhu gets put down. But I think owner lady deserves a hefty fine and to learn to be a responsible pet owner. Just... ugh.

Haven't seen a followup story or anything yet with Moon/SK's official acceptance, but someone linked that tweet in a reddit thread I was reading earlier today.

Pence is sitting with Abe. I think the best thing about my relationship is I wake up 2-3 hours before her and sit on my phone and she will cling to me like a pillow without waking up. Cutest thing ever.

Our pup can be really mouthy (lots of barking at dogs and cars) but has never hurt another person or dog. But yes, in general I've found that smaller dogs are the worst behaved. I'm not sure why, could be lack of training or just some sort of inbuilt Napoleon Syndrome, but it's quite noticeable. Good to hear your dog is obedient, hope he heals ok!

It's absolutely lack of training. Small dogs get away with behavior in their households that larger breeds won't because it's 'cute' and 'harmless' when a frenchie plays over aggressively with your hands and what not but obviously a rotti/sheep mix owner is not able to just let that slide or they will get severely injured at some point.

Probably a thousand hours of us training, and probably a grand worth of treats in there as well. And I don't expect people's little ankle biter to be show ready or anything, but basic manners like not assaulting my dog would be great. Or even showing basic social signal conveying "hey i feel uncomfortable" (from averting eye contact, body posture, leaning away... escalating to eye contact then a low growl, escalating to a snarl / teeth barring, escalating again to snapping at air and finally just biting) which gives my dog a chance to back off. Thing is a lot of these dogs arrest trained and have had them skipping a lot of these steps reinforced and rewarded. Our Shitzhu friend for example went straight to biting; that's a learned behavior, either he didn't trust his owner to keep it safe and he thought he had to protect himself or he's received lots of rewards reinforcing him escalating unnecessarily. Reality is, my dog gave Shitzhu lots of time to show disinterest or aversion to the interaction, but there was none until Shitzhu went nuclear. This is very common with little dogs, and it's incredibly rude and dangerous behavior. I've thought about it a lot, I don't even think i can do anything on my end, and even if I could, morally i don't think that would be right. Telling my dog to be ok with little dogs being rude and walking all over her feels kind of like telling my girlfriend it's ok when that guy at the club grabs her ass. I think for a while I'm just going to leash her around little dogs. Feels like a crappy unfair solution (i shouldn't have to punish my dog for other dogs wrongs), but i don't really feel like I have another choice because I'm responsible to avoid the stressor; ultimately Lexa would win whatever fight a little dog wants to start but Lexa would lose the war. And as much as the official record is on our side this time, will it be if there is a next time? I don't know. And that I don't know has my dogs life hanging in the balance.
