Had jury duty today. Grumpily got out of bed early in the morning to get there by the time I normally wake up. We get told there's only 2 cases today. Civil judge was a bit late because his case settled and then the Criminal judge doesn't show up for a while. Cut to 2 hours later he comes in and says his case plead guilty. None of us were needed for a jury. | ||

+ Show Spoiler + Playing GRbu for Bolas. I'm 3-1 going into Match 5 and my deck is cursed. I've flooded out nearly every game I've played with it, before siding into another deck and then coming back to win. Opening hand: 6 lands + Bolas. I decide to go for it because I've had games where I really needed to resolve him to simply win. Turn 2 Lay Bare the Heart. I'm now sitting on a hand of 6 lands and stone NOTHING else. I finally manage to get out a few creatures, OP drops Scorpion God. Yango says to concede, I refuse. I have a few guys on the board, he attacks with god, I play Cartouche of Strength and topdeck Resilient Khenra to get in for some ungodly amount and eventually get in under the God for the win. Game 2 I switch into a mega-aggressive UB cycling deck, opening hand U lands and a turn 2 play. I proceed to draw nothing but U lands for the next 4-5 turns with tons of B cards in hand. Eventually draw Survivor's encampment, slowly get B cards onto the board. Threat of activation lets me get in and a timely doomfall after nearly wiping his board lets me exile his 3/4 lifelinker and again I barely go on to win. I can't stress enough how much I love this sealed format, and how much fun it is to constantly play different decks that are tailored to beat what my opponent is on. | ||

hi, sorry to barge in, but I was looking for a forum where I can find other TL players around my rank to duo with me. I looked at other several forums and can't seem to find anything anywhere. I'm new to this section of TL. I come from SC/BW :D | ||

I've been lucky enough that I could build several decks too (well, beatdown decks with a variation in "do I try to drown you in bears (3-drops) or do I finish you with 6-drops (play a bit more removal)?") but I've seen a bunch of pools that you could really only go 3c to have enough mediocre cards, or just piles.How did you build that your UB cycling deck ended up "mega aggressive", was that a bunch of Spellweaver Eternals and Vile Manifestations with a couple Snipers and Ominous Sphinges for that "threat of activation"? Without AKH's payoffs I'm not sure what that archetype is supposed to look like in HOU. Also I should get some infos on draft before my first one tomorrow, 'cause people seem to believe W is very good and deep while it had my vote for worst colour at first glance. Am bad or what. | ||
